Mail.app & IMAP

I'm holding off until that unconfirmed report of IMAP problems in 10.4.7. is checked over.

Please help if you can.

Well, I just installed 10.4.7 on my iMac G5 w/ iSight.

Restarted... And now the fan is spinning non-stop. Woohoo. Thanks, Apple!

I have no problems whatsoever connecting to my Imap servers (3 different ones...)

And everything else seems ok too (MBP 1,83; 1,5; 80) :)

I'll shut up now - just popped up a reminder!

64Mb and about 2 minutes :D
Haha, I was gonna ask if you were running Jaguar or Panther! One of my friends has Jaguar and he kept asking me why he was getting any updates...

okay, I had some SERIOUS problems here!!!!!

I downloaded it all fine (took about 10 minutes for a 64.9 Mb download) and click Install and it gave me a Kernel Panic. Got me worried, but upon booting back up it looked normal, no damage done. Went back into Software Update and lowe and behold, there it was waiting for me to click Install again. I clicked that, and just left it to it's own devices. Did the install inside OS X fine, no problems there and then it went into the blue screen. Now I know that some people said it takes a while for the blue screen to go away, but is it really meant to take TWO HOURS? no no no I don't think so. Anyways, I took a (big) risk and held down the power for 4 secs and booted it back up again. It took (a bit) longer than normal to start up, but OS X is running fine now (that's what I'm on at the moment) and it says OS X 10.4.7 in the About This Mac window.

Should I do anything just to check it's all fine? I'm running check disk permissions at the moment...

Still no support for my Windows Mobile Smartphone :(

Please do, because it has broken mine :(

No probs with both of my IMAP accounts, however it did ask me if I wanted to update my keychains stuff to which I said 'change all'.. might just be a keychain prob for you IMAPers with that prob.

Seems fine. Receiving, moving and deleting messages work for me. Can't test sending from home (workplace smtp server blocks outside traffic).

EDIT: I allowed the Keychain changes reckless 0001 mentioned too

I clicked that too, but it stopped working anyway. Thunderbird is fine though, so it's not my network connection.

iMac G4 here - 39.2 MB file.

Downloaded and installed with no issues so far. It did take longer than normal on the grey boot up screen with the apple logo, but went through just fine after a couple minutes.
