Predicted this to happen around ~late March, early April. Don't know why other MR members thought this would be released around June.

That would also explain why Apple is placing a lot of emphasis on NAB and the whole HD year claim. :)

O.T. => Nice video

Because they just released it? it IS a 500 dollar computer.... kyle[/QUOTE said:

how do i convert aac's back to mp3's again?

First off, if you already know a question is off-topic, perhaps you should look for the appropriate thread to post it in instead of a thread about Tiger being due in April. There are many different forums on MR to discuss many different things.

To answer your question though, just right-click on the file in iTunes and select "convert to MP3". Nothing complicated.

This could be

Maybe I'm just a sucker, but ThinkSecret is unusually accurate, in the article, they don't say, rumored, or expected, they say it WILL happen, if it doesn't oh well we can wait, it is one of the most major releases ever, but I suspect this is true.

Firefox/Safari

As long as it comes before August, it's cool with me.

Also, at the Firefox guy or just anybody in general; don't you prefer Safari to Firefox?
I have both Mac and Windows and I can honestly say that Safari is better than Firefox on both Mac and Windows, imo.

Safari is my #1 browser but my backup is the G5 optimized release of Firefox which is very smooth and quick. The page rendering isn't as perfect but it is nearly instantaneous with my cable connection.

I'm actually posting using Firefox right now.

Maybe because a number of developers that have used the Feb. 26th seed of Tiger report a lot of remaining bugs, application crashes and instability?

Still not a hugh issue, for example Panther not mounting an external FW drive. :S

In the coming days and weeks it can be fixed easy. Have it ship with the new hardware and have it on a sale on its own mid-april. :)

Dumb question. If I buy tiger, will it come with iLife 05 or is that seperate?

iLife '05 will remain separate.

However, seeing how iPhoto 2 and iMovie 3 are on the Panther install CD's, we may see iMovie 4 and iPhoto 4 on the Tiger installation disks.

Waiting on these updates is bound to be hurting sales. At least that would be the case with those that follow the forums closely.

Buy a new mac and you get both Tiger and iLife '05 bundled. But yes, Tiger and iLife '05 are two completely different products.

Try bugs like finder forgetting which apps open which type of file, crashing whenever you copy a folder with a large number of files in it, crashing when you try to simultaneously copy more than one file. How about dashboard sometimes just losing all your widgets and settings after you spent ages setting them up. Spotlight failing to index all your files, locking up in the middle of a search and starting a brand new search if you switch from list view to full view. Mail totally locking up and permantely refusing to send outgoing mail. With many of these bugs, particulary the finder ones, the whole system locks up and you need to restart, apple-option-escape does not respond.

How about corrupting your keychain so your password is lost and you can no longer log in.

Are any of these bugs serious enough to stop a release? Even if all these very serious and very obvious bugs could be fixed in the coming weeks do you really think that is all of the serious bugs found and fixed? If these are the obvious ones i hate to think what will pop up later if they release a final now.

So I guess Apple will now sue TS again for speculating on the release of Tiger. After all, some of you think this kind of info constitutes "trade secrets."

I think it just sandbags sales... everyone who follows forums waits, waits, and waits, and when there's an update... BOOM!... 4 week delay on shipment of products.

this is exactly what a rumor site is supposed to be, and this thread is a lot of fun. speculation is always allowed, and that isn't what the previous TS situation was about. speculation, educated guesses, and little slips on apples part help us take a good guess about a major os release. this is totally different from nda protected information being leaked. these are actual rumors again. huge and obvious difference.

and back on topic, i can't wait to get the new os. april would be great, but i can wait till they are totally ready. i just want it to be super stable, so i'm in no rush.

Man, that sucks... what build was that? My build ran perfectly on my 1Ghz Mac G4, 1Ghz iBook G4, and 400Mhz iMac G3...
