What do you want to know?

How quick is Spotlight, does it seem to get stuck on a search sometimes like in Tiger.

How is it after 20 hours of use, have you come across and thing bad e.g bugs, freezes.

Do you like it, knowing what you know now would you still upgrade.

I think everyone railing on this guy is lame.....very lame. Dude has made it clear that he has purchased Leopard so I, for one, don't really have a problem with him getting his hands on a pre-release copy. The reality is that it is out there whether this dude downloads it or not. If he were making it available via FTP to anyone that wants it, that would be a different story.

Thanks!

Here is also my receipt of my purchase. I am not posting my name or address of course...

I'm impressed that you didn't run away! You're the category of 'pirate' that I actually believe is ok since you're paying for it anyway. The kind of person that may 'aquire' certain tv shows because they don't want to have to wait for it to be translated from American to English but make sure to pay their full Sky subscription and TV license even though they hardly watch it. Its not about pirating to get something for free but pirating to get something without having to wait - same reason people unlock iPhones and bring them to Europe.

Apologies if my posts earlier on in this thread might have seemed rather aggressive towards piracy or the forum, I was just on a high horse day due to having sat around for three days in a row at home waiting for someone to deliver something important and have been getting rather frustrated!

I've just checked my order details on my 5 license pack; it says it's "prepared for shipping". I'm assuming this means it will be dispatched tomorrow for delivery on Friday (fingers crossed). Assuming that Apple haven't paid the courier firms to only deliver after 6pm, I should receive it earlier than the launch time - am I a) going to need to change my nationality to German and b) going to get lynched for having it before the people buying it in person? :)

Props. to you for posting that.....serioiusly.

I'd like to know, if you have a Airport Extreme with hard-drive connected to it, if it will work correctly with Time Machine ? Sorry if this has already been asked.

Everyone is freaking out about this one guy who stated 'everything is fast!'

Meanwhile there are screenshots, detailed descriptions, and lots of input about Leopard from users for some time now on the InsanelyMac forum:

I imagine they'll crash soon, if they haven't already.

Yeah, considering what Macs cost in Latin America I should just go to the shop and steal one right? I mean after all, why would I pay more than what I consider my fair share for something?

Dam Straight!!! power to the people... you go smash that shop, and steal me a copy of leopard if they have one would you? I'd love a box :D

Absurd... any product costs different in different countries. Even Big Macs cost different amounts in different countries. Sounds like you're not willing to pay for anything at all.

I agree, products do cost different amounts depending on the country, this is normally due to shipping costs, different taxation systems, bribing the officials and last but not least large companies taking larger profit then deserved. Now either our good Berty is allot more cunning then i thought, the tax really has gone up here or petrol is really through the roof but €40 per copy is quite a bit.

Let me be truthful here for one minute. I love apple computers, there slightly more expensive then others but you get what you pay for. There solid, well built and well designed computers. The apple operating system is that too but the difference is that I don't think Leopard is worth €130 (I probably would pay €90 but forty extra is just too much). I did download leopard earlier to see what it was like and other then rss in mail (thunderbird...) there's nothing there i want. (And before you say it I'm allready considering moving to ubuntu on my macbook... 7,10 is in many ways just as good as osx)

to the moral police: I have never seen such a large group of jealous people in one area in a long, long time. so what if someone's already using Leopard? big whoop-dee-freakin-doo......

you guys that are complaining must have been the same types of kids in kindergarden that were complaining about how the next person next to you got six jellybeans when you only got five. again, big whoop-dee-freakin-doo.

life isn't fair. deal with it...

Following up, why are the moral police even reading mac rumours: a lot of the concrete rumours are from people who break their NDAs or other agreements to provide the juicy rumours in the first place!

The moral police should be avoiding mac rumours ( and other rumour sites ) like the plague!!

Well, I cant answer that at the moment. I finished yesterday around 3am, went to bed and then I went to work. I just finished installation on my Macbook. Leopard is also fast but I think the iMac is a bit faster.
Spotlight I havent used much, but the one time I used it was pretty fast. I cannot compare it though to Tiger.
Something that I didnt like was that after installation a reindexing begins. I forgot to exclude my 5 External HDs (approx. 3 TB of Data) so when I returned home from work, Leopard was still trying to create an index! I excluded my HDs and after 10 mins Leopard indexed the internal HD.

I will try to make more searches and see how it goes

Why run away? I have worked for Microsoft at the past, I know the policies regarding software. Nobody gets prosecuted for downloading a software he has paid for, even if the source isnt legit!
Microsoft has thousand of customers that are exactly like that!

Anyway, I apologise if I insulted people by downloading Leopard. I have specified my reasons and I certainly do not regret it!

Call me crazy, but couldn't Apple detect some of the people using Leopard by watching the new .mac sync features and who's tapped into them early? They have your name and address etc. all right there with the subscription.

Worth chancing it for playing 2 days early?

Something I dont like about Spaces is the shortcut key. Its F8. Great if you have a Macbook ( I have) but if you own the aluminum keyboard F8 is used for volume control!
I have this keyboard on my iMac, so I reconfigured Spaces to use F6
On my Macbook its still F8

its a bit of inconsistency here.

Yes you are right. The answer is, why bother? Apple doesnt want to spend money prosecuting amateurs, they want to find the real pirates. Dont forget that Leopard runs on Apple hardware only. That means the user has already paid sth to Apple. Its not like that in the Microsoft world...

It's interesting that in the Apple visual guide they said it would take "an hour or two" and it appears to take much less. I have a hard time believing that time frame and wonder why they over shot so badly.

Certainly ought to cut down on griping from those what end up spending more time installing than stated by Apple.

I'd be interested in hearing a bit more about iCal as I use it each and every day.

The default preview on the right part of the screen is now gone. The user has to double click in order to get a preview of an appointment. Then there is the edit button that allows inline editing. Its a bit tiring to go through all these steps but certainly the options now are much greater.
I also like the default alarms for new appointments. It was about time!
Event Drop Box also works nice

What I found a big disappointment was the Tasks. They havent changed at all. (apart from the OS wide Tasks Database and integration with Mail)
