My Safari hangs up alot and i get spinnig beachball for about a minute... on both the imac and Macbook Pro

I seriously cannot stand that beach ball, its driving me crazy...

I hope they fix the brightness display problem for models 9CC2 13 inch macbook pro :(

Hopefully this update will make Snow Leopard play nicer with MS Office 08 and Flash CS4. Both Flash and Word have been sluggish since I updated (although to be fair, Flash has never been very speedy).

This looks like the Snow Leopard that should have been on day one. :p

Please don't start that crap. You could say this about anything. Snow Leopard worked very well for it's initial release. Note I didn't say perfect, because there is obviously always going to be bugs/issues with any piece of software when it's initially released. Bugs in Snow Leopard should have been a surprise to no one.

According to this article, native NTFS write support is built-in to Snow Leopard. It's not enabled by default though.

*Enable at your own risk.*

;) That's exactly what I was asking about, I know there are third party solutions but I'm not paying their crazy prices when during the development of Snow Leopard, Apple made it clear that NTFS R/W was coming.

Thanks for the link. I might try this if I'm brave enough....

This issue, as minor as it is needs to be fixed!

I don't find it very minor. Once you enter this issue, there is no getting out of it without a restart. I find it pretty major. Then again, there are even lager problems than this one.

Also, Finder has been having some troubles with the disappearing menu bar and slowness. Like I said in another thread, I will give Apple some time to work out Finder as it was compltley re-written for Snow Leopard. However, for complely re-writing something, it has been pretty bug free. Finder is in the bug fixes section of this release of 10.6.2.

I have no idea how you managed to do that.

Hope they fix AirPort. Ever since upgrading to Snow Leopard, when I go to my sister's house I CANNOT connect to their wireless router. When I get back home it recognizes my wireless network just fine. Both networks are N.
I've been having a problem with my AirPort Extreme. I have to reset it every so often cuz it stops emitting a signal. It was working perfectly in Leopard.

I hope this is sarcasm.

You're really hoping for new features from a maintenance release of a main release that was hyped for having "no new features"?

We need to talk about your expectations.

Boot Camp was released on a minor version. We've had new glide pad gestures added as well as GUI tweaks. The first release of Safari was added in-between major version so why the lack of faith that Apple might add something new and free to OSX on minor releases? History tells that they might.

Here's what I'm looking for:

1) A full ZFS implementation (read, write, format, etc)
2) A marriage of Mail, iCal, and Stickies into Mail. I want a calendar in Mail and if I have an appointments I can glance at a mini-calendar in Mail or click on it to bring up the full iCal. Stickies should be mailable. iCal should have a feature for responses to invitations to count how many replies a person gets for an event. These are just some ideas.
3) With malware growing on the Mac platform a preference pane for configuring protection and regular definition updates coming bundled with security fixes.
4) More games than just Chess (e.g. Solitaire, Poker, Hearts, Soduko, Go, etc) built into the default load of OSX.
5) Now that Apple bought a mapping software company I want maps built into the OS like they supply the dictionary. I want data detectors with that that will recognize addresses and give me options to map it or get directions.

Am I asking for too much? I don't think so. :)

ASLR
(OS X has ASLR. But the implementation is is bad and incomplete)

Wonder if this will fix the kernel panic issue with the Radeon x1600.

What issue? I have two machines with x1600s in them and haven't had a kernel panic of any kind for a good couple of years, much less since installing Snow Leopard.

Are you sure it's the video driver and not, say, bad RAM?

This was the 500mb that was missing from the original install disc?

Kernal panics on my Imac, MacBook, my goodness I'm looking forward to some improvements. Safari hangs, apps hang, boot up isn't as good as 10.5. Beach ball city right now.

I love Apple, but they are definitely lacking when it comes to this OS right now.

I have no idea how you people have so many issues with SL... mines been running at least as good as Leopard from 10.6.0 onward.

10.7 features?

Generally there'll be these sorts of updates for 10.6 until we get to 10.7 - maybe even further then that (updates for 10.4 were still coming out a full month after 10.5, for example).

of course, but long before release there'll be leaks and rumors about what 10.7 is going to offer us.

Please fix the 4-finger swipe expose bug where if you swipe two ways without taking your hand off the touchpad it bounces instead of returning to normal windows. (I don't know how to describe it better). This happens on my MBP4,1 and a 13" MBP I installed SL on.

YES! YES! That's the first time I've heard anyone mention this, and it drives me crazy too!
