Well, I've installed it on my PowerMac and I'm in the process of installing it on my PowerBook. Cool so far...only noticed one problem. I had my computer set so when the screen saver came on, it required a password to unlock it again. It's not asking for the password anymore. Tried turning the feature on and off, repairing permissions, rebooting...still not working. Weird...

EDIT
Nevermind! Good job Apple!!

I've got my bottom-right corner set as a hotspot for the screen saver to activate. I used to accidently put my mouse there all the time, not meaning to activate the screen saver, and then I'd have to type in my password to get out of it. Now, the screen saver has to be on for 5 seconds before it'll ask you for a password when you move the mouse!

An Apple Phone Rep told me that there would be some sort of compensation for those who pre-ordered and did not get Tiger as GUARANTEED on 4/29

That's good to know. I'll be calling apple today and complaining. My copy did ship but it has been sitting in Memphis since about 12:40 this morning. Doesn't look like it will be making it here today. I can see them offering us free shipping on a purchase over $50usd.

That would be a really funny offer.

"In order to compensate you for your frustration with our shipping, we'll give you the opportunity to be frustrated again! For free"!

Well just spoke to FedEx since my package was picked up in PA at 6PM lastnight and there is no sign of it anywhere. She said it may be heading towards my local fedEx center but that since Apple sent it second day on 4/28 they may still hold it until Monday. She also had no further information about where it was......could still be in PA.

Think I'll go to the release party tonight and pick it up.

Hang in there. It's been my experience that the tracking page sometimes lags behind the location of the actual package. I've had packages shown sitting in one state, only to receive them minutes later. You may still get it today.

Mine says:
Apr 29, 2005 8:27 am On FedEx vehicle for delivery SF CA
😀

Not too much room for error there. 🙂

Congrats, it's been about 12 hours since mine left the elusive FedEx "ramp" ...whatever that is. 😎

Tiger officially launched in Europe

A few minutes ago, clocks in the Central European Time zone struck 6 o'clock. So Tiger is officially released over here. 🙂

My wife just called me and said a package came that was purring. Now if I can only get her off her Thinkpad.

I hope the afternoon here at the office goes fast. I want to go home!!!--NOW!!

64 Bits Applications?

Ok Guys....lets say we have a 64 Bits System like Tiger..... How about Applications that comes with Tiger are those Applications 64 Bits too...and if they are..... there is some table comparison from the older QuickTime and the new one?... Thanks all.

TNT Suck

TNT tracking showed it was out for delivery today at 9.31am, and I even called to make sure, lady said they deliver up till 5pm, yeah right.

No sign of it at 4.50pm, I checked tracking sight again and a new entry said at 3.25pm it had been back at the warehouse thats 30 minutes away from me and is back to Allocated for deliver again, called them and said it will be Tuesday now, that's just a ridiculous service, so going to see if my father can get over there by the time they shut at 7.30pm.

TNT has for so long been well known to just suck in every way, damaging goods and delayed delivery, I just don't know why Apple still use them.

Still "Preparing" but I have it!

To those whose orders are still being "Prepared"...there is hope.

As of this moment my order at the Apple Store is still listed as being prepared, but FedEx just left a Tiger in my hot little hands.

Funny, the FedEx guy says "OK, I just gotta ask, what is this thing? I've got half a truck full of these, delivered 4 of them so far this morning and every person has been at their door waiting for me."

Felt kind of geeky explaining that it was an operating system upgrade for Apple Macintosh computers. He had a sort of dumbfounded "man you're a nerd" kind of look on his face, then says "All right, well, have fun with it."

And so I will.

That is priceless.

I can imagine the guy walking up to each person's house and seeing someone in the window jumping up and down with the door ready to be opened. 😀

Ok have to ask.....was the FedEx site up-to-date with where your copy had been.....or did FedEx.com still say it was on the loading ramp when it had actually been delivered?

Well, now that I have a tracking number...

FedEx reports my box is "On truck for delivery". I guess it will update to delivered pretty soon, but now instead of spending my day refreshing the Apple order status page I'll be playing with my new Tiger (already installed, BTW...took about 30 minutes for plain vanilla Upgrade from 10.3.9 on Dual G5/1.8).
