Mac Pro 8800gt Are Shipping!

Woot... Congrats! I ordered my RAM several hours ago and will be ordering my hard drives later today.

Still no sign from Apple yet. I'll call Apple today.

I also ordered one 750 gig Western Digital (AAKS) HDD from Newegg for $154.99. Not a bad deal. Hoping to see it arrive Friday. If not, then Monday.

This 750 gig drive will go into the Mac Pro, along with a 500 gig Seagate, 400 gig WD, and 74 gig Raptor (the latter three being pulled from my custom-built PC). The stock garbage 8 meg cache 320 gig drive will be pulled from the system and relegated to backup duty, along with an external 160 gig PATA drive. Maybe somewhere down the line I'll sell the 400 gig and replace with another 750. But for now, 750+500+400+74 (~1.7 terabytes) internal should do me just fine for now.

Anyone's FedEx tracking number start with a 1109 ????

FedEx still doesn't have any info on their website and it's been like 5 hours since the Apple Store order stats page gave me the tracking number..... :eek:

this is exciting and frustrating in equal measure. my work internet connection won't let me access my webmail or get to the accounts page on the apple store so i can't even see if mine is in progress. arrrrgh. if only my orange contract had run out earlier i could be checking on my iphone at least :(

Gotta say that having ordered Jan 8th am NOT happy that I see no movement yet.....hopefully sometime real soon :mad:

Oh well - congrats to those who have been notified - may we will all be smiling soon!

Hmmm... I have the same config and used two credit cards for payment too and still nothing yet on my end.
 
Mine still says shipping Feb 14th to arrive Feb 15th. 3.2 with 8800, RAID Card and Wireless. Can anyone confirm that they have a 3.2 that has shipped?

Yeah, January 8th order here and still no change :mad: I'm guessing it's either because it's an ADC order(regular ADC, not student), because I went quad core+wireless card, or a combination of the two.

Still, I'm hoping to see some movement today as I ordered with overnight shipping so if it goes out today, I'll still get it tomorrow.
 
Thank you Apple. My order placed on january 8th has been shipped today (got the confirmation e-mail 5mins ago :) Delivery should be next weeks tuesday!:apple:

MikeL is right... Apple is in advance and it's a good thing. It just seems that it's not first arrived, first served and I know it's not the greatest thing. But I guess Apple tested and pushed my patience to the limits. I'm immune to time now.
 
Man Alive...! I am getting pissed... OK, not pissed, just REALLY envious of all the shipped machines I am seeing.

I ordered on Jan 9th and nothing has changed for me.

I am headed out to shovel the 14 inches of snow that was dumped last night... and when I come back in it better have shipped! or I am going to... wait till it does! :cool:

I ordered Jan 8, 2008 at 01:48 PM PST and my shipping notification came in when I checked email this morning. It says it shipped yesterday, but Fedex doesn't have any information yet for the tracking number. I ordered through my day job's employee purchase site.

especially when they produce horrible

That's good to hear then at least. I was 4:18 on Jan. 8th myself. Hopefully I'll hear something very soon today.

Called apple just now and told them that I was annoyed by the wait, and many other machines are shipping and they upgraded my shipping to next day air.

I wonder if I could convince them to do that for me...even though the only wait I've had is the normal 3-5 day for BTO Airport. It's probably going to go out today, that would mean I could get it tomorrow instead of sometime next week....hmmmmm
