If Apple doesn't update the Mac Pro website to say "Includes Mac OS X 10.5" (like it says under all the other Macs) tomorrow, that means we might see a new Mac Pro on Tuesday. After all, they wouldn't want the site to say Tiger for a long time. Also, Apple got the iMac chips 2 weeks before they got released from Intel, I don't see why they couldn't get the Penryns 2 weeks earlier (Tuesday)

Which country's version of the website? The US version says shipping with Leopard.

I hope

What a good observation!

The Mac Pro should be updated within the next 2 weeks. It's perfect timing because the new processors are coming.

I would **** myself. I sold my mac pro because I know this one is coming out very soon. I cannot wait. I just installed a new HD in my old powerbook 1.5 ghz and am putting Leopard on it tomorrow.. I have 2,500 sitting in a bank account waiting.. with my student discount I will be super hooked up.. then I'll just have to worry about how im going to make my command center.

It is also on the macbook, macbookpro (store pages) as included software.
Starting to think its more of a spotty job on updating the site.

Either way new macpro is still around the corner ;)

There's no way Apple could miss something that simple. They have five computers. Why would or how could they miss one? lol It's really really odd.

Ok, soooo, Intel released Penryn, TODAY!!! Well, Penryn is still shipping 11/12, but still, hopefully a MacPro gets announced tomorrow.

Yea, Intel moved up the embargo date from 11/12 to today (10/29). Its entirely likely that Apple may not only release new MacBooks on Tuesday but also MacPros.

If you read TechReport's review, you'll find that not only do you get a performance increase, but a substantial power decrease - their entire system load went down an astonishing 75W for a QC 45nm chip vs a QC 65nm chip under peak loads. Expect any PR to focus on energy efficiency, since the MP may not see a big clock speed increase (3.2Ghz is the new top most likely).

Another observation... the upgrade links on the bottom of the mac pro tech specs page are dead...

I hope that the MP comes soon, I am a college student doing 3d animation and I needed this thing a few months ago. Anyone think that there will be a price drop like seen in the iMacs? Also any word on the graphics card? Ditching the 7300 and replacing it?

What is an "upgrade link" ?

[edit] I see what you're talking about now.The links for memory etc. [/edit]

He meant the Add-Ons links that take you to the store's appropriate product pages. They're all dead. I can feel how close we are to the upgrade.:D:apple:

Butterflies

I have a feeling about this too. ;)

Can I join in.. I'm definitely feeling something is about to happen :)

BTW I just noticed there was something different going on with the Mac Pro Configure page (BTO).. seems like the icons have been updated!??
Not sure if this has been this way for a while.. check out the ACD Icon.

And something else I haven't noticed before.. when you first load the BTO (configure) page, an orange "update details" button briefly appears above the "add to cart" button... nevermind I think Im going mad with anticipation.

If the new Macbooks come out next week then I would give that about 2-3 weeks on the front page. Then Mac Pro will come afterwards in Nov.. possibly Macworld. I think it depends if Apple has nothing else big to show in January then they will probably hold the Mac Pro until then regardless if it is ready.

Nonono.. ;) Mac Pro sooner then later.
Especially with more then a couple of things pointing to a release soon.

And hasn't Macworld been classified as less of a Pro event.
Also the argument that penryns will be 2 months old come January.

And how cool would it be to see the front page tomorrow with Leopard in the middle and the MacPro on the left and the new MacBook on the right with the caption... "Enjoy the fastest Mac ever, Pro or Consumer." I'm sure someone else could come up with a better tag line, but still. lol

Yeah and the processors in the Mac Pro I bought 1 month ago were over 12 months old and had been heavily discounted by Intel several months before. Apple cease to surprise me now.. (dont get me wrong I love the computer but it felt like a bit of a rip off) Maybe I am bitter :)

MacPro Keyboards

On a side note. When the new MacPros ship, they will come with the new keyboards right? That's all Apple sells now. Just picked one up for work and they only had the new ones, no more old. :D
