in a related story, Didi Chuxing riders have also been reporting a higher than usual amount of traffic fatalities recently due to vehicles freezing while driving. Apple Support is apparently aware of the issue but have so far offered no concrete solution.

Meanwhile, some have resorted to downgrading their transportation to walking briskly by restoring from a Time Machine backup or performing a clean install.

No, not Vista either.

There are many irritating bugs in El Cap, though. Quality control is seemingly understaffed.
Nope they've all been retrained for designing watch bands for Angela and plastic cars for Tim

My Windows gaming desktop which also has a hackintosh ssd is more stable than my rmbps on el cap. El Capitan=El Krapernick. (SF fan here haha)

This oughta be a lesson to all that just jumped right in and installed the update without waiting a month.

Rule Number 1:

NEVER EVER EVER INSTALL APPLE OS UPDATES UNTIL THE SMOKE HAS SETTLED.

That advice has been valid with Mac OS updates for 20 years.

But all caps on a forum isn't going to prevent people from repeating the same mistake over and over again.

Don't Do It!

Actually , great advice for all. Be you an android, Windows , Apple user etc.

To be honest, can't fault the watch bands, have not had a single issue with the 4 apple ones I own :p

*Sigh* - as much as I dislike Yosemite, I'm staying put until El Capitan is stablized. I hope there is a fix very soon.

Apple really needs to stop breathing the colored metallic fumes and new money scents and get back on software fixes.

The rough times for Apple just keep getting worse. A lot riding on WWDC, but given the lack of hope-inspiring rumors it probably won't be until iPhone 8 that things start to improve.

Maybe it's time for TC to stop playing nice boss and tighten up the ship by instead hold his employees accountable (i.e. it's time for heads to roll...)

Only way to get Apple`s attention is to vote with your $$$$ as that`s all Apple cares about these days. Given Apple is down 40% on Mac sales over the last quarter they may feel motivated to do something, equally no doubt the Mac & OS X will be far from the top of the list. Personally I just expect "thiner & lighter" another bug ridden release of OS X, colour options, all wrapped up in more hyperbole, superlatives & hubris than you can possibly stomach....

Q-4

It all went south for OS X when apple pulled the stupid stunt of giving is a new version of OS X each year. Annual updates of gimmicks leads to an unstable OS, and you cannot blame the devs as they have huge mounting tech debt, resulting in bugs because the markerting and greedy morons are trying to push sales cause people think they are getting a free OS each year. Stupidity all round.

Windows 10, just get more stable each year , as it's not introducing new "features" each year while, we get a new OS every 12 months which starts the bug cycle .

Best thing apple could do is go back to charging for OS X and do updates every 3 or so years.

I've been having this problem on my iMac since the first version of El Cap, with the exception that the cursor still moves. Four updates later and I still wish I'd stuck with the previous, bug-free (for me, at least), OS.

Uh, actually yeah. If it came down to that silly fantasy, i'd say yeah; do focus on a rose colored car. That's what R&D does. They don't fix OS X bugs.
We're obviously kidding here. But the point remains...there seems to some OS X and iOS issues that many people in this forum are having difficulty with Apple not formally addressing. Instead, it "seems" (in a joking sense) that Apple is more focused on new Apple Watch bands and secret Apple Car projects, instead of dealing with lingering issues.

yes, please fix this. my $3,000 Skylake iMac is worse than my Windows '95.

I never remember Windows98/95 being unstable as people make out. mine was a great gaming machine back in the day. Definitely more stable than my current MBP not that I'm literally comparing them.

Haven't gotten a system freeze, but all of a sudden when I try and pair with my Sony external bluetooth speaker all hell breaks loose.

I thought my 2015 rMBP had a hardware problem. Glad to know I´m not the only one. It would freeze every couple of days.

I stopped using Safari and switched to Chrome and the problem went away.

This is the second strike from Apple for me in less than a year. First ios 9.0 broke my iPhone 5S which I was asked £200 for repair but then turned out to be a buggy OS bug that was fixed in 9.1, now these problems are happening on my MacBook as well.

I don't remember having these kinds of issues on older apple products (iOS 4 OSX Snow Leopard) were rock solid.

I have to say, I've had more problems with El Cap on my 2015 iMac than I've had problems, combined, with Max OSs since at least Mac OS X came out. It's the buggiest OS i've ever used on a Mac this century. I've never had to take a computer in for repair, but I've had to take the iMac in 3 times, and it's all been software-related.

A large number of MacBook Pro owners running OS X El Capitan are reporting widespread system freezes since installing the 10.11.4 update to Apple's Mac OS.

Hundreds of MacRumors forum members have been posting to a dedicated thread to discuss the issue, which spans 20 pages at the time of writing. The problem appears to be concentrated on 13-inch Retina MacBook Pros (Early 2015) running 10.11.4. Users report that their system becomes totally unresponsive at seemingly random times, with no way to regain access to their Mac other than to force a hard reboot.

The issue was initially reported by MacRumors forum member Antonnn on March 25, four days after Apple released what is the third update to the Mac OS. In Antonnn's case, the freezes have been occurring "about once a week", first when browsing in Safari, but then also during the use of other Mac apps, including Adobe Photoshop and several third-party browsers. The freeze seems to affect not only the screen and mouse cursor but also the Mac's Force Touch trackpad, which completely loses feedback.

Many other users have since reported similar freezes after updating to 10.11.4, with some 15-inch MacBook Pro (Mid 2015) owners also experiencing issues. One potential cause has been identified from crash logs as a system framework or an Intel Graphics driver bug. The issue is also being reported after installing Safari Technology Preview Version 1 and OS X 10.11.5 Public Beta 1.

Apple Support is apparently aware of the issue but have so far offered no concrete solution. Meanwhile, some users have resorted to downgrading their system to 10.11.3 by restoring from a Time Machine backup or performing a clean install.

We'll update this post throughout the day as we learn more.

I'm running a Late 2015 MBP and seeing similar issues with 10.11.4 so hopefully 10.11.5 will fix this. I just downloaded the beta 4 release so we'll see if this helps at all.
