It is my experience that this means the shipment is currently in the air, heading somewhere. If you are in the USA, likely Memphis.

My MBA is still processing. I called yesterday, and was reassured it would be shipped out yesterday. What a joke!!

I'm sure they'll make the delivery estimate. Who knows how they sort these orders out.
great. that's what I was hoping. i'm in nyc.... fingers crossed for a friday delivery (fedex.com says monday).
I ordered my MBA and dvi adapter on Monday night. Wednesday the adapter shipped from China with an estimated arrival for the 15th. Today the laptop finally shipped with an estimated arrival of the 19th.
I just checked on the adapter and there was an attempt at delivery for it. Seeing that the adapter went from China to delivery in a day, I am still optimistic to receive my laptop tomorrow. I will be home tomorrow so I wont miss delivery this time.
btw I am in AZ.

My 13"/i5/128/8GB BTO Air just switched to "preparing for shipment" this morning. I ordered it on Tuesday afternoon, and my estimated delivery time is 18th-20th.
I paid for the expedited shipping but, unless it ships in the next few hours, I have the feeling it's going to be a loooooong weekend!

So my MacBook Air came in, I did the black magic speed test, 360Mb/s write, 460Mb/s read.. 128Gb Toshiba SSD.
2012 airs use sand force ssd which are slower on incompressible data which black magic tests with
100% normal speeds
Ordered my 13" 1.8GHz with 8GB RAM upgrade Monday around 10PM PST. I elected for in store pickup. The estimated date I got when I placed the order was the 21st. My order is still processing, but still showing the 21st as the date.

Hey congrats!!! Did your MBA arrive earlier than expected? I ordered mine on Monday at around 3pm CST... Fedex tracking currently says delivery by the 18th (next monday) but I'm hoping it can get here tomorrow.... crossing fingers.. :/

Same here!!! It should have just landed about an hour ago....Final destination MIA....By looking at the flight it should get in Fort Lauderdale around 6:30 AM. The hub is about 30 min from Airport.....Will I get it Friday?? What do you guys think?
All of my whining seems to have paid off.....
My Air is officially preparing for shipment, 66+ hours after ordering. I am still a bit saddened that I have to wait till next week to receive it, but I am relieved to finally see some change in the status.

Now, 50+ hours later it still says processing order. Apple still has a day to ship before 1-3 business days are over but I'm fed up. I want the status to change!
