All the complaints about the screen, the screen is beautiful, I had it since friday after the release and no problems at all!

i really couldn't be happier about this product!

the trackpad is perfect and multitouch is a feature that you can't live w/o on another laptop once you have it

the screen is quite glossy but not as bad as everyone is saying

im still learning osx as i was a recent convert, but it will be soooo worth it

I've only had my MB for about 3 weeks, but i've gotten so spoiled by the trackpad and tricks. Yesterday I was helping a friend install something on their HP laptop, and i realized JUST HOW TINY those trackpads are!! WOW! And I found myself trying to use finger gestures :) LOL
No wonder Apple has such a passionate customers; their products are AMAZING! :D .... starting to sound like a fanboi

I'm actually thinking of upgrading even though I said I wouldn't. The main factor in all of this is the 9400M, I'd love to have the new MacBook for that alone.

I simply can't get over how cool the trackpad is. Turning the single tap option "on" and using two-fingered scrolling, makes browsing, etc. effortless. I rarely use my BT mouse now. :)

I CAN'T WAIT for my macbook. I ordered it through a friend who works at Apple so I am extremely satisfied with the price (thus paid the $15 extra for expedited shipping)...but it has been EXCRUCIATING waiting already, and it's only been about 24 hours!

And now you know how much I suffered in the last 4 months.

Look like my Macbook as receive is first scratch, a deep one that can't be removed with rubbing... I feel really strange about it. Normally I would be in a impossible anger that my baby got scratched, but really, I see it only as a battle scar :D.

What make me a little less happy is that I found that my battery cover is slightly loose on the right part when the Macbook is downside and facing me. That's why my Book was making clicky sound when my hand was sitting on the palm rest....

Haha, well with your special pricing, you will be doubly happy with your MacBook, assuming you can survive the wait. :p

MINE DOES IT TOO!!! I thought it was something inside hitting the hard-drive. How did you fix it?!?!

It STILL do it. I didn't even touch it for now. (Got work to do)

There's a simple quick and dirty fix that was exposed on this topic:get your cover out and bend slowly the tabs to get them in their normal position. I'll try it once I finished with my homework.

I just bought my first Mac computer yesterday and am very happy with it :D

I posted a topic on this thread on it; goes into more detail on my current experiences :)

Look like it was a false alarm. I opened my battery cover (with LOTs of carefulness! People actually make their machine worse only by opening it, so I didn't wanted that to happen to me) Looked at the tabs, which were straight and undamaged, and put it back in place. I first freaked out, the cover was really misplaced, and had all the symptom of all the problem of every other people who were claiming that they covers were loose. Removed it and put it back again. World of difference, seems like I solved my problem only by putting it back.

You just have to be really careful and put no force when you remove and put it back. Seems like a common error is that people put force to put it back and do not use the switch, which seems to damage the tabs.

Bluetooth Settings & MacBook Sleep Issues

Hi,

I rest my SMC as per the instructions. I've done this a few times before and it my system sleeps one time correctly then glitches as previously noted. However, this time I did not use any Bluetooth device but I was connected to the internet via my wireless router. The computer has successfully entered 'sleep' and woke up several times without a glitch (white light flashing in front during sleep).

I the tried various Bluetooth settings starting with switching ALL the choices listed under the Bluetooth Advanced tab to off. I then switched on my Bluetooth mouse, used it for a while then I switched off the mouse (Microsoft Notebook Mouse 5000) and waited for the laptop to give the 'lost connection' notice. Once the notice disappeared I close the lid and the system entered sleep again (white light flashing in front) and woke without a hitch. I guess that I should add that I mainly work with a Bluetooth mouse and rarely use the track pad.

Next I restored the default Bluetooth Advanced tab settings including the ‘Allow Bluetooth device to wake system’, reconnected the Bluetooth mouse and used it for a while before closing the lid and placing the computer in sleep mode. I left the mouse on. Something very interesting happened…….the system properly entered sleep mode with the front white light flashing, I then intentionally moved the Bluetooth mouse and the system tried to wake with the lid closed. I saw the Apple logo light up briefly then shut off AND I also heard the Superdrive mechanism respond. The white light in the front of the system stopped flashing and just stayed on. The system would not wake. I had to hold the power button down till the white sleep indicator light shut off the boot the system back up. It is important to note that I DID NOT reset the SMC.

Once the system rebooted I made one change to the Bluetooth Advanced tab settings, Specifically, I switched off the ‘Allow Bluetooth device to wake system’. I used reconnected my Bluetooth mouse by turning it on. Used it for a while then closed the lid. The system entered sleep again (white light flashing in front) and woke without a hitch. The sleep mode works equally well now if I close the lid or select sleep from the menu.

I realize this may not help everyone but it has aleviated this problem, at least for the present on my system. I hope this helps some folks as well as the Apple techs.

Joe

Definitely better...

How is the aluminum macbook's screen compared to the blackbook?

I passed my BlackBook on to my husband when I got the Alum. They sit side by side in our home office. I never had one complaint about the BlackBook. Seeing them side by side the Alum was much crisper and brighter. However, if I'd never seen the Alum, the BlackBook would have seemed awesome to me.

Ordered me an OCZ 60GB SSD today, should be here tomorrow. My current install only weighs in at 22GB so that's plenty of space.

People seem to have got good results with the OCZ and the MacBook so looking forward to having a play. Keep an eye on the blog for thoughts tomorrow !

I have been using this feature since 3.5 years on my G4 powerbook :p

I just couldn't help myself! I've been spending money ever since i bought my macbook 3 weeks ago, and i keep seeing stuff i want to have :) haha... Isn't this just a beautiful chunk of aluminum??!!? I think so :D

Finally!

I made the long turn from PC to mac. I went with the 2.0 and Mobile me to start off. So far 've downloaded Adium, the updates for my macbook, got RTM Pro, and about to get 1Password.

Any other suggestions?

SO HAPPY with my book!
