You did not use the word "arbitrary" correctly, and seem to misunderstand the definition as well.

I upgrade my 2.0 Alu MacBook to 4GB RAM last week, and it flies.

Just took my Alum MacBook 2.4 into the Apple store due to a screen flickering issue, and they shipped it out, replaced the screen with a 9C8C, replaced the inverter, replaced the cable, gave me a new lid because mine had a scratch on it, and shipped it back in better condition than I bought it.

All in all, it looks and works like brand new! Not bad for a $800 open box Best Buy special. LOL

Oh, and I forgot to mention that my iPhone had a tiny crack at the bottom... they gave me a new one while I waited in the store for my Mac's diagnoses. Good lord, I love apple. :p

Just had to share. ;)

Which screen did you have before? Thats good service you received there!

I THINK it was the Samsung model. I know for certain that it wasn't the LG, and I'm positive that it wasn't the 9C8C... I have it all written down at home, but for the life of me, I can't remember. You had to go and call me out on it! :p LOL

And yes, EXCELLENT service. I'm super-pleased. ;)

so you have the screen flicker issue on your uMB during reboots, and they replaced the entire LCD?? is the 9C8C the latest screen on the MBP?

if so, then i need to talk to applecare...

I had the screen flicker on reboot, yes. It also did it when coming back from sleep. I took it to the genius bar, the tech and I stopped to the side and I restarted it in front of him. He was able to see the screen flicker at the grey loading screen, promptly stated "Yeah, that's not normal..." gave it the once-over, and boxed it up. He told me that it needed a new inverter, cable, and possibly the LCD. I received the entire unit back today, and the documentation stated that they replaced the entire assembly which, (AMAZINGLY for me) included the lid!

I have no idea which screen the 9C8C comes on, but the difference definitely had the "WOW" factor. (Granted my screen was FUBAR'd...)

So, yes, if you have the flicker, go to the Apple Store... The literally looked at it for 2 mins max before deciding on a repair.

Welp, Applecare ran out and I didn't extend. Hope I don't end up regretting that.

EDIT: What kind of battery life should I be getting? Battery health is 95%, after two hours my charge is at 19% ...

Depends on brightness settings, etc. Typical battery life is three hours, so you're getting a little less. Three hours can be achieved about at about 75% brightness with BT/Wi-Fi on.

If you repair your disk permissions you can squeeze out 4+ hours with screen at lowest brightness setting and BT/Wi-Fi off. :)

I had wifi and itunes going, no BT, at about 50% brightness and i got a little less than three hours ...

Just an update, but I think I just needed to calibrate. After running my battery down and recharging it to full I'm getting roughly four hours.

Well, first of all, your URL has an extra "]" so that doesn't work without editing. Second, no such profile found on your site, so that was a waste of time.

Well guys i have waved goodbye to my MacBook aluminium. I got offered a very good cash deal for it and took it as i couldn't turn it down. I still have an iMac though. I had my unibody for a year and can still answer most questions that anybody has

I may be selling a macbook 13" unibody aluminum for 600-700 bucks, is that fair? 160 gigs hard drive, 2gb ddr3, 2ghz, 2 months old. College ended up
giving me a macbook pro and I have some bills to pay : )

Why did you get rid of the MacBook? Was it just because you only really needed a desktop?

Yes i found that i used my iMac more. When i bought the MacBook i didn't have an iPhone so if i wanted to surf or use msn or send a quick mail it meant being stuck at my desk. Since i got my 3GS i found that i can do light surfing and msn very easily on my phone whilst being on the couch or wherever. But i like still having a big screened desktop for heavier uses.

I said I "may" be selling. I am not selling it right now. I am currently
the owner of it. Posting in the "Aluminum Macbook Owner Thread."
Asking other "owners" what a fair price would be.
If, I was actively selling it, I of course would post there. Thanks for your concern.

Yeah, exactly. That's a feeler post for the marketplace... Thanks for further clarifying why this is the wrong spot for that :D!
