Wow, took you long enough. BTW, the display becomes more vibrant per say after the Snow Leo update.
I wanted to make sure all the bugs were ironed out. Also, since I'm public speaker I wanted to make sure there were no bugs in Keynote or other programs I rely on to make a living.
I've also noticed:
1. Dramatic speed improvement in Mail
2. Worse battery life
And now that you mention it, perhaps a slightly improved display. Glad I made the change though, because my one-year-old MacBook was starting to strain immensely, with almost weekly permission repairs required to make it more lively. I hope the speed improvement lasts and they improve battery life.![]()

Funny that you mention battery life. I get equal or better life on mine. Only problem is Safari has been on a crashing spree lately.
the only real difference i noticed is that applications end up crashing a whole lot more >(

Battery life after a permission repair verified at about 2:17 vs. 4:00 before SL, so a huge decline. My other battery does better though, so I will provide a real-life test when I get on the plane tomorrow and turn everything off.![]()
Real-Life testing for my battery is like I said before, same or better. In fact, I just checked at Coconut Battery. Interesting results considering my Mac is a little over a year old already. Not only has my battery lasted the same, but its health has been 100% for a year long. Usually, batteries loose 20% a little after a year or at 300 load cycles.
I will try to calibrate it again, but have done that twice in the past and it didn't help.Weird. I have 299 cycles on my MacBook battery and running 10.6.2. I have pretty good battery life (~3:00-3:30) hours per charge. Have you tried calibrating? I did that right after installing Snow Leopard and it has been good since.
What happened to the stated goal of making Snow Leopard more stable?![]()
It will be achieved around 10.6.5 or 10.6.6.![]()
Hope everybody else is just as pleased with theirs![]()
I just wanted to give an update after owning this baby for a little over a year now!
Just yesterday I noticed my battery health dropping to 99% after 130 cycles. NOT bad i think!
Everything else about this computer is still as good as day one! It runs solid, feels solid, no squeaks or blemishes. I've managed to not put any scratches or dents on it, so it looks amazing! And the decision to put ClearGuard and PalmGuard on the MB was very good, because the keyboard looks great and I imagine so do the palm rests!
Hope everybody else is just as pleased with theirs![]()
Fellow MacBook Owners and Experts,
I bought my MacBook 13" Aluminum Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz this spring, and was mortified when the MacBook Pro came out shortly afterwards for the same price...
My question is:
Should I sell my MacBook on eBay (for about $950 it looks like) and buy the base MacBook Pro 13" or upgrade the memory on mine to 4GB? Photoshop and iTunes tend to get a little "hangy" on me (but other than that I LOVE my first Mac).
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks, all!

The new MacBook Pro is not going to give you any real advantages. I have 4GB installed on my MacBook and I run Photoshop, QuarkXpress, Coda, Final Cut Express at the same time as VMware Fusion with absolutely no problems.![]()
