It will be like the voodoo envy. The macbook will no longer have an ethernet port or dvd drive and it will be on the power brick. The powerbrick will work as a wifi superdrive and router for wifi. Most likely you will always take your power brick with so why not make it part of the power brick so that the laptop can be smaller.

Not necessarily... look at the way the power plug is swappable on the current brick. What if the brick were a part of the dock section, but you could pop it out and just take the small brick with you, leaving the heavy stuff behind?

Is there someone that works at apple named B. Rick? Or Rick B?

Or maybe what we should focus on is the ICK. It's gonna be ugly and make everyone go "ICK! Gross! ICK!"

I read on another site a theory that "brick" is symbolic......

How do you break "Windows"?......Throw a brick through it.

With the rumored aggressive price cuts, these might be the products that will garner more marketshare for apple

I like Macenstein's theory. How do you really mess with Windows though?

Official Mac OS X for PC, ($299 and serialized to protect Apple's hardware profits, of course.)

^ Return of the Pismo? Modular drive bays?

Brick…might also mean we are finally getting a G5 notebook.

Too bad the picture does not show the retractable wheels very well :D

Maybe they're referring to component style electronics that can be stacked in custom configurations.

i.e. stack a MacBook Brick onto a dock for added storage/graphics.

Like the LaCie external drive that's the same footprint as the Mac Mini

Edit: Beat by a Toe

That is a good explanation.

no offense, but i HATE that idea. I tuck all my wires away where i cant see them, thank you very much.

what if the new macbooks could have a swappable dvd drive?like some other notebooks do, you could then add a battery or another hdd? dedicated graphics are to be excluded, i'm afraid..
I thought about it remembering the "interchangeable" keyboards of older powerbooks
but still, Apple is trying to eliminate movable parts, look at the MBA that's been the best built apple notebook, right?

And since "brick" is also slang for a power supply this could all just be about new power supplies and nothing else.

That would be very surprising! All about the Brick to me would entail a hell of a lot more than just the PS!

Many are expecting as Jobs stated a long time ago backlit LED Displays and then there's that rumor regarding a glass touch pad which mystifies me!

It would be very boring if the only change is the power supply!

brick

i think the brick refers to the foundation of apple, the computers. So if i am right i would expect a wide update of most of the computers. I also like the theory of windows killer or a mid priced tower.

brick

Couldn't this just mean that solid-state drives will now be available for the new Macbook line.

NO TOWERS!!!!! I hate towers.

I can't see professionals liking the idea that MBP should be 16:9 ratio... Why have a screen with less height? Doesn't make sense...
