 Could this be!?!

The Zune inspired mac we have all been waiting for!

If it is refering to the macbook I am perplexed . Hopefully it looks :apple:nice.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am proudly to introduce you the new Mac Mini tower today. It is a little bit smaller than a Mac Pro but has the upgradeability of a Mac Pro. It comes with 2.0GHz Core 2 Quad processor, 2GB of DDR3 RAM as standard (upgradeable to 8GB of RAM), 250GB HD standard, nVidia GeForce 9600GT as standard with an option of ATI Radeon HD 4870x2. We call this our mid-range "gaming" Mac. It starts at $1499.
We ship it today starting Tuesday.

Sincerely,
Steve Jobs

I wish.

I'd buy that in a snap instead of the PC gaming notebook I've been eyeing, because Apple has nothing to offer.

Would be nice but I've kinda given up on Apple in this regard. For all the things Apple does get, they're really missing the boat on this one. I know so many people using Windows who would jump to a Mac if Apple had an affordable option other than the Mini. Neither the iMac nor the Mini appeal to most PC users, I suspect, because those machines, as good as they are, are just too different from what PC users are accustomed to.

I don't know - Brick screams tower to me, it can't be a notebook or tablet - bricks are associated with being large and heavy.

I think the timing is right, with the Psystar ordeal and such ...

Steve jobs is siting on this thread and reading all of your posts and writing down ideas. he is definitely saying to himself "these fools, i paid people to give me ideas, now i can get them for free. All i need to say is a word muahahahaha, damn i should of used solar, maybe they would of created a solar power laptop" get your patents out boys.. lol, yes im imaginative.

if im not mistaken apple has already looked into photovoltaic cells on its products or in the screens.

See, I think that's the very reason they won't. Why bother suing Psystar if you're just about to introduce a product that would lay Psystar to waste? I think the Apple minitower will never happen. And that's too bad really.

If it does, I'll be on the phone with a bunch of different PC users I know who have previously expressed interest in Macs but backed down when they realized how limited (and limiting) the offerings were.

There are people out there stuck with Windows who want to give Steve Jobs their money but they don't want a Mini or an iMac and they don't want to refinance their homes for a Mac Pro.

They had to, in order to prevent others from walking all over their copyrights and patents.

Then it will be good for them, but not their wallets.

Bricks building a tower

I think it will be a new MacMini and it will be stackable with the Time Machine giving you a tower with up to 1TB of hard drive or bigger (depending on how much you upgrade the mini to). It will also most likely be upgradeable (via the side of the mini) just because it seems Apple is trying to make all their computers more user accessible even if you can only upgrade the ramm. They might also pull out certain parts of the mini and package them separately. This way the new ads can say "build your own tower" thus using the different bricks. Maybe individual drives like blu-ray and dvd drives and external hard drives. Thats just my idea.

*pokes last post* Guess no one cared, but I think the idea of a desktop replacement with a lot of speakers and stuff for entertainment (gaming, too) could be what it is..

Has anyone else thought that this would mean a detachable multi-touch trackpad that would also be a wireless mouse...aka "Brick"

This is what I said in a much earlier post:

I firmly believe that the new MacBooks will not have any detachable parts like some are mentioning (keyboards, touchpads, or even docks). To me it's a burden to carry or to keep on my desk. I want my new MacBook to be complete. Sure, I don't mind an external optical drive but everything else should stay where it is.

A power brick (or any other brick) would seem too obvious and seem very underwhelming. Here's you new MacBook and GUESS WHAT!! it has no brick!!! or it comes with a magical brick that does more things than your new MacBook can!!! This doesn't seem too thrilling to me. In fact it sounds retarded.. I think many are taking the "brick" too literal.

I say it's either a new Mini replacement or it's the speculated "Windows" breaker.

I haven't read all the posts, but whatever The Brick is, I'm prepared to be disappointed. I've decided that it's much healthier to keep my expectations low and then be pleasantly surprised if Apple manages to exceed them, which hasn't happened in a while.

yeah yeah yeah...so what do you think the brick is? :D

yeah super fail. i mean honestly how would you make that look good, and give it three months and that "mouse" would be falling out or not fitting or full of crap and dust and grime, that would all be shoved back into the laptop.

SOUNDS GREAT!:D

I am willing to bet money on the brick is some sort of bottom peice to the Apple Notebooks. Sort of like a dock but not.

A Brick.... Picture a Lego... stackable.

Immigane if Apple laptops were all as thin as the Air but with the Ability to add a bottom peice, to make the whole laptop bigger. The Bottom peice could house another HDD, Say, a 320GB 2.5" traditional Hard drive, a good graphics card, Alot of Ports, Blu-Ray etc...

And the thin computer by itself could be like integrated graphics, solid state hard drive, no optical drive etc.... that way you could have thin light notebook or a big desktop replacement or w/e.

I think this would be a great idea...

Hmm, glass trackpad? Hmm, could it mean the next MB will have a glass display at the trackpad area, like the iPhone?

Let me clarify, imagine, the iPhone screen replacing your MacBook trackpad, meaning that it can also display images, or extra controls?

Or maybe the glass trackpad will replace the keyboard and trackpad, that will be crazy though, but its possible.

Oh yea, an Apple can't release some new revolutionary product every time. Thats crazy.

^ Return of the Pismo? Modular drive bays?

Brick…might also mean we are finally getting a G5 notebook.
