I'm seriously amazed by all this. That Best Buy can sell them before any Apple Store in the US even has them in stock is astounding.
I dont understand why Best Buy is selling Apple Products before Apple Store.

This is what happens when you have Angela Ahrendts heading retail.
...
Angela, this is not fashion. Please get you act straight and do some justice to the salary you get.

I got this from BB...before I could through the Apple Store...![]()

Except most Burberry customers buy more in-store than online. Same with other high-end fashion houses.
I've read in other threads that a new plant bid and won the production of the new MacBook and clearly they aren't pulling their eight. I don't think it's just up to Angela to pick release dates based on production capacity. That's a larger operations effort.

Yep, picked mine up (the one and only one at BBY) today, 512gb 1.2ghz. When I went into Apple, it's almost like they're being trained to act like I'm stupid for not ordering it online. Uhh, why do you have a store if you don't sell anything? And how do you run a company where you have Best Buy getting stock before your own stores?
Straight from Angela herself.
I quote,
"The days of waiting in line and crossing fingers for a product are over for our customers. The Apple Store app and our online store make it much easier to purchase Apple Watch and the new MacBook. Customers will know exactly when and where their product arrives.
This is a significant change in mindset, and we need your help to make it happen. Tell your customers we have more availability online, and show them how easy it is to order. Youll make their day."
April 10th? Oh yeah, online or retail, we couldn't get one on their "supposed" launch date.

IF they were going to make this online only order, they should've at least let people pick it up on April 10th at the Apple store.
Wait, wait.. the guy that didn't believe Best Buy had any??? Hahah.
(I'm joking with you, by the way)
I like the online approach because I think it's a lot harder on scalpers. It was really frustrating to see scalpers walking away with boxes of 6/6+ phones after they'd fill lines with their own people to buy 2 phones each for cash. Granted they can still get multiple people to buy online, but it's a lot harder than sending them in with cash.
It's definitely been a rocky launch in terms of availability for the Watch and MacBook. No one is disputing that. I was responding to the comment about "Angela, this is not fashion".
Angela cannot unilaterally decide product launch. It requires coordination from manufacturing with retail. Not just one.
Apple employees probably didn't genuinely expect BB to get shipment before them. After all, Apple is the one making the product, not BB. What a novel idea...

I don't blame you. I would've preferred the option to order it online and pick it up at the store. That's what I was expecting when they said Macbook will be "launched" on the 10th. But that wasn't the option.
----------
Obviously with company this large Angela isn't the one coordinating everything. I don't know any inside affairs and how online only idea was brought up and executed..but it isn't far fetched to guess Angela had some significant input since this is the first time Apple has done product launches this way and this is the first major product launch since Angela took over as the head of retail...

Thank you for all this work you're putting up with. I really do appreciate this thread and while it not looking good for me as a European I'm hopeful "one day" I will see more bold stuff![]()
Germany, Munich, both stores: Not displayed, not available. Employees have no clue when they'll even arrive, advised to check again "in a week or two" for more information (much less actual devices).
