Herndon, VA Best Buy

1 gold 256 in stock for sale

They had a space grey too, but I bought it =D

A BB about a hour from me had a silver base model in stock. I been to Apple twice and played with the space gray, didn't even bother too look at the silver. The guy would sell it to me over the phone, even said he wold hold it for 15 minutes, or drive fast lol. But ehhh if I got one I want space gray lol.

Plus I really don't feel like driving a hour lol.

Ha...today I glanced over at the silver/gold but didn't really look at them. I was playing with the space gray.

Ditto. I find it funny the two times in been in store i have YET to look at the silver model lol. I did check the gold out, but didn't give any look at the silver. Perhaps the sleeper of the bunch haha? I really didn't feel like driving a hour to be honest. They are showing dates for shipping for next Friday for free, or as early as Monday for expedited. I have a Hummer H3, even the expedited would be cheaper vs gas. Plus no hassle using the movers coupon being i can enter it online, & don't have to wrestle with a unfamiliar store trying to use it ;)

Couldn't find it in any Apple Store, but was able to pick up the mid-range model at Best Buy. They only had one left in Silver, so just the color I wanted.

Had a 10% off coupon and $300 in certificates, so brought it down quite a bit.

Just got home from picking up my online order at the Apple Store on Michigan Ave in Chicago. I asked if they had ANY in stock and they said no. Also that the one I was picking up was only the 2nd one to leave the store, lol.

I also wanted to buy an adaptor if they had ANY in stock, but they had none. Not even the USB-C/USB one.

I was in Best Buy in Louisville, KY this evening(Shelbyville Road/St. Matthews) and they had a gold model on display. I didn't inquire about overall in-store availability, as I mostly just wanted to play with it and get a feel for some of the new features that have been so talked about.

BTW, although this is not the computer for me(and I never expected it to be) I was really impressed with the new trackpad. On the default settings(medium w/feedback), it does indeed feel just like the one on my MBP, and were it not for the fact that I knew it was different I'd think it was the same design. Of course, you can click at the top of the trackpad, which is something the older design doesn't allow. Just like the old Apple Pro mouse(which was supposed to have adjustable click pressure), at least with a few minutes of playing in store, I didn't notice much difference between "soft" and "firm" for the click setting.

On the other hand, the short travel of the keys on the keyboard bugged me. I could probably get used to it. I'm probably a bit "out of calibration" considering that I use an AEKII daily, and plug a Unicomp Model M into my MBP when I'm typing very much.

But, that's just my impression from about 10 minutes of playtime in the store.

Hi,

Still nothing on April 16th in Paris Louvre Apple Store. No informations on availability. They just tell customer to connect frquently to the Apple site to get informed ;o) ! Still nothing displayed.

I bet if there will not even be display models in the Store's for example in Europe very soon, people will loose their interest in this new Macbook.

The only thing I regret by purchasing the 1.3 so far, is that I had to buy it from Apple directly. I would have liked to be a part of the large movement of consumers who purchased the laptop at Best Buy. While my small purchase minimally affects Apple's margins on it's own, perhaps the high volume of Best Buy traffic will. Can the Best Buy vs. Apple availability issue during this launch help signal to Apple that a change in retail strategy is in order?

Hello in order to know where we can see or get the new Macbook, please add the store location: country + city and availability.
I will update with all your comments!

Australia
Chermside Westfield (Brisbane, QLD): Not displayed, not available
<SNIP>

For Australia please add:

Doncaster Westfield (Doncaster, VIC): 6x Displayed (2 of each colour), not available. Rep was unsure when they would be in stock, really trying to push online ordering.

I can't believe that 2/3 of the bottom floor at the Regent Street London flagship store is now a watch display and the Macbook is nowhere to be seen. I stay from the "Steve wouldn't allow this" tantrums, but this is ridiculous.

I agree. I don't subscribe the "Steve wouldn't allow this" arguments either, but their whole approach to this release-cycle feels poorly thought out. Their insistence on pushing watch viewing appointments on people who are there for other reasons is irritating at best.

The lack of MacBook stock (even for display) in the rest of the world while there is stock at third party sellers in remote areas of the US gives the impression that only US customers matter. This might not be true, but it is a monumental failure to give that impression.

Apple should, at the very least, explain the reason for their failure to provision their non-US flagship stores.

Ummmm, the Watch sold 2.3 million, the MacBook sold just 50k. iOS devices are ALWAYS more popular and sell a ton more than any Mac. Not surprised at all.

Been into Southampron, UK store today. Was told 24th would be the day that display models go out and they will actually be on sale too! Apparently apple want a big release day for the watch and macbook. Don't know how much truth is in that, but if so you will have to brave huge crowds!!
