She's not responsible for manufacturing delays. She is responsible for communicating accurately with customers who may be disappointed or frustrated by manufacturing delays. Apple's customer communications on the rMB have been at best confused, unclear and contradictory. The way non-US customers have been treated is simply astonishing. A big thumbs down.

Again, I agree, but since I am not familiar with the internal structure and hierarchy in Apple, who IS responsible for manufacturing delays?

Coon Rapids, MN

Stopped in to the Coon Rapids, Minnesota BestBuy last night on a long shot. They did have one of the silver 1.2 Ghz/512 GB models available for purchase. I'm holding out for the gold so I passed it up. Temping though.

I would assume Jeff Williams, who is SVP of Operations (Tim Cook's old job).

Unfair to Apple

I think we are all being too harsh and unfair!!You think it's easy for the world's #1 company by market capitalization to roll out 2 products that you don't have to wait more than a month to purchase them?
Tim was right 'can you even see it"????cause i can't even feel it.

Just to update, as of Monday morning, there are still no display models available in the Exeter, UK Apple store (and obviously no stock).

Lots of bored Apple staff though. ;)

Same in Cambridge - I asked one of the staff and he laughed off the bat, I guess they're being asked a lot :)

I'm a bit surprised, Apple store Amsterdam just told me they won't expect it in the shop within the next 6-8 weeks. I'm not entirely sure if that's the truth or that he's annoyed by everyone calling if they have them in stock.

6 to 8 weeks?? you gotta be kidding! this is getting insane.
Well, in that case...gonna order a rMB this week at BestBuy in the States and ship it to a friend in Washington, who's visiting Amsterdam halfway May.

does anyone know if any retail stores in the San Francisco/Bay Area have it in stock?

Apple Store local inventory can be checked online, if that's what you're asking about. Best Buy at this point requires a phone call and they store you reach may or may not be able to tell you about other stores' inventory - seems to vary from district to district.

Called around

APPLE STORE IN YORKDALE HAS IN DISPLAY!!

**this is in Toronto Canada***

Yay for Yorkdale. Just called Eaton Centre and they still don't have any display models and still say it'll be next week before they do. :S
