Yay for Yorkdale. Just called Eaton Centre and they still don't have them and still say it'll be next week before they do. :S

next week before they have them for sale?

Damn, definitely checking up on that lead. :)

I will go check it out tomorrow. will post pictures afterward.

I dunno about sale. I specifically asked about display models. I doubt they'll have them for sale. So much for April 10th.

Best Buy in San Francisco (13th and Harrison street) have both the Space Grey and Gold on display. I know it's not an apple store but I figured people in/near SF would like to go see it in person.

Any Apple store stock on Friday 24th expected?

I went in to the Sydney city Apple store yesterday and had a play with the rMB - it's a sweet computer and I wanted one instantly (although can't justifiy it at the moment).

I asked when they expected to have physcial stock to sell, and nobody knew. They just said "we get shipments in every day, and don't know what we get until it arrives".

Probably just as well, otherwise I might have given in to impulse!

However, it is a bit disappointing for Apple customers. I heard more than a couple of people next to me saying "ok I'll take one", only to be told that they have to order online with a 4-6 week wait.

The Apple Store itself in SF has about eight MacBooks out on display as well. No stock, however. I've been in every day this week to ask. I heard a rumor about possible stock on the 24th so I was told to go at 9am to see. Fingers crossed..

Does any Apple Store in Australia have some on stock today?

Assured physical Apple Store stock today 24th for Southern China by Apple. Visit leaving empty handed, as the joke launch continues; staff now have literally no idea of in store availability and can only embarrassedly point you in the direction of the Watch.....

Same as the US it`s looking very likely our local approved retailers will have stock before Apple Store`s, as the demo systems are already in place. Aside any technical or production issues Apple need to sort out their communications to their staff and their customers

Q-6

As I posted in the "London" thread, I just popped into the Cambridge (UK) store and there were none available or on display. One member of staff had no idea, another said they wouldn't be in until the online dispatch estimates drop down to 1-2 days, so "probably June".

Shambles!

Shambles might be too strong a word for what seems to be a confused communication. I wonder why, for example, the MacBook was announced so early - perhaps it would have been better to do it at WWDC, since June appears to be the month when their production can cope worldwide.

I can understand the supply restrictions on the Apple Watch as it's a new product category with quite a lot of variations. Predicting sales and demand for each model would be tough. Focussing all the attention on the Watch might have been best.

Alternatively, if they absolutely had to launch the MacBook at the same time, at least they could have said it launches in the USA in April, the rest of the world in June. They do staggered launches in different countries quite often. It would have been irritating for the rest of us, but at least we'd know.

At this rate, Rev B will be on the horizon before Europe sees a demo of RevA.

Ah well, it's only a computer - I'll live. :)

Been told over the phone that there isn't any UK in store stock and there is no definitive date. I was told instore last week that today would be the day of display models and stock but now just being directed to the online store... And a possible wait until June!!

Seems same most places, and it is shambles as Banquo's Ghost stated had Apple communicated adequately then their would be far less issue. Apple chose not too, and that comes off as a little arrogant.

Personally I pity the store floor staff as they are clearly not getting accurate information from management and have to deal with the returning customers after passing the same inaccurate in-store stock dates, this in isolation is unprofessional at best.

In my short time in the Apple Store this morning, numerous customers asked the same question, all leaving in the same manner, you can be assured it didn't "make their day"...

Edinburgh has at least 5 display models, they were being set up at lunchtime today. (4 were available to play with, 1 box waiting to be unpacked, and a gap on the table where presumably a 6th was to go.)

No stock though.

By Apple standards, in my opinion, this is most definitely a complete shambles.

I say that from the point of view of an Apple devotee (maybe not for much longer).

Personally I think 'shambles' is too nice, considering the cock up of this launch.

I'd say screwed the pooch would be fair.

Really disappointed in Apple, and it certainly isn't the retail staff's fault, they have been thrown under the bus on this. Plus I get really frustrated by 'you can look at the Apple Watch' direction they have clearly been told to say.

I'm after a bloody laptop, not a watch!

Apple Store Plymouth, UK now has gold and space grey on display. No silver yet. No stock.

The Apple Store in Exeter, UK now has six demo models - two of each colour. All 1.1 versions.

The screen is a delight, and the keyboard really good for writing. The staff are hopeful of stock soon (no date given) and I am fairly sure I'll be a buyer as soon as they're in.
