The Apple Store itself in SF has about eight MacBooks out on display as well. No stock, however. I've been in every day this week to ask. I heard a rumor about possible stock on the 24th so I was told to go at 9am to see. Fingers crossed..

Did they have any in stock yesterday?

In the apple store in glasgow, plenty in stock.

Keyboard is going to getting used to but not that difficult, easier than i expected.

In stock to buy? It'd make it seemingly the only place in the UK if so.

I played with one in Cambridge today, came home and immediately ordered one. Such a nice machine. June 1st-12th delivery though :(

I have one on order since the 10th, and was in the Braehead store today, after reading the forums I didn't bother asking if they had stock! Will be asking tomorrow if this is the case though.

A number of Bay Area stores received a small supply (like, less than ten per store) yesterday. I'm comfortable stating this as a fact because:

1. A very good friend of mine works for back-of-house in one of those stores and sent me a photo of them
2. I went to the flagship store in San Francisco to try and get one today and the Specialist who helped me mentioned that I was a day too late.

Said Specialist also mentioned that they're starting to trickle in once a week.

The Omotesando store in Tokyo has all base models on display and also has stock of all models (except 1.3) in Space Gray and Silver. No Gold and no English keyboards available in store. Pretty nice little machine and though I don't need it, very tempting.

No stock in the Glasgow Braehead store, was told they would have to "order me one in" and it would be 4-6 weeks.

How did you end up paying 2100 for a 256 base model, if you don't mind me asking. Customs or something?

Because in Ukraine price on new macbook 12 256 GB is around 2100 USD,512 version around 2700 USD,even in USA on some eBay positions 256 GB versions costs about 2000 USD/1900.In Ukraine this machine get few people(around 3-4 including me - its rather rare). We have heavily economical situation - this machine can buy 5% of people in Ukraine.)) Average payroll in Ukraine is 150 USD/month))

Stopped in to the Coon Rapids, Minnesota BestBuy last night on a long shot. They did have one of the silver 1.2 Ghz/512 GB models available for purchase. I'm holding out for the gold so I passed it up. Temping though.

I'd be tempted to go get it except that I want a space gray and I want the 1.3MHz.

each of the 6 Toronto area Apple stores got a single display model a couple of days ago. no stock. It's apparently the same everywhere in Canada. Just one display model is pitiful IMO. there are less than 500 Apple stores in the world. are the production issues are so bad that they can't spare 2500 units to get 5 display models in each store? I am guessing they rushed it because they wanted the Apple Watch crowds to see the macbooks too. it's not working too well with just 1 display model per store though. I had a hard time finding it and had to ask an Apple store employee to point me to the right place.

But the machine itself is drool-worthy. in comparison MBAs look like dinosaurs in terms of weight and screen quality. keyboard is ok - not as bad as I feared. I would probably get used to it. the up and down keys are terrible though. I could probably live with that but the ports and the battery life are too much to overcome so I'll probably get a 13"MBA. still, the new macbooks are certainly the future. should be great in a couple of generations.

Edinburgh has at least 5 display models, they were being set up at lunchtime today. (4 were available to play with, 1 box waiting to be unpacked, and a gap on the table where presumably a 6th was to go.)

No stock though.

Edinburgh had 12 display models on Monday (27th) when I went in to see (2 table of six). Didn't bother to ask if they had stock since I knew what the answer would be. Besides I have ordered a BTO 1.3GHz/512GB in Gold so they wouldn't have had stock of that anyway. Got a high five from an assistant when I told him that is what I had ordered :D I might have been tempted to cancel my order if they had stock of the 1.2GHz/512MB models.

I don't mind ordering online but in this instance I wish I could collect my order in store rather than have delivered......just because I'd like to walk out of the store with it  Still its always fun tracking the UPS driver to my office ;)

They are physically in the store at Best Buy. They even had a choice of all three colors.

Apple stores, no.

Any way to check online which Best Buy stores have them? I went to three stores in NYC who were out of stock and their systems couldn't locate a single Macbook in the area either.

You are in kinda a populated area so it may be harder to find but if you go to the Best buy website and pick the unit you would like, you can then check availability with you zip code.

Best of luck.
