I was on Mars during the launch yesterday. They didn't have Apple Watch pre-orders for Mars yet, but our Radio Shack had available stock for the new MacBooks.

So I bought one.

Then I woke up and lied about it on Mac Rumors. Oh, all the fun I had! It put me in such a good mood I went to Best Buy and bought an iPad Pro.

True story!

Pmsl :D:D

I'm taking this with a grain of salt but guy at the Apple store told me today they will have stock available for sale on the 15th.

All three models (colors) on display in Park Meadows Mall Lone Tree CO, USA.

The only MacBooks you will be allowed to pick up in the store are the ones that you've sent through to the store via in store pick up.

Think iPhone sales. People order those for in store pick up 2-3 weeks out when they launch. Yet, they get stock a few times a week that people can pick from. This could work like that.

I also think the apple watch will be in stores for people to buy before some of these ship dates. I cannot see apple not having the apple watch in stock in stores until after June.

I can. If people knew the watch was in the store they would line up for it. I think Apple is just estimating conservatively and will beat expectations for most people. Then they will look like heroes for it. Sometimes it's all about setting expectations low enough that you can beat them. I do it all the time when I interview for jobs. I don't want to build expectations so high. Some companies miss this and don't hire me but that doesn't bother me that much the ones who do usually are glad they did.

Nothing in Toronto again.

i was told they might get shipment in 2 WEEKS. but can't confirm.

what a mess

Ok. That is really what I mean. I don't think these 4-6 week times will last. My gut tells me 2 weeks max. Ship times will be back in the 3-5 day range in about 2 weeks.

From everything I've read/heard all shipments or rMB will arrive on 15/16 this month. This includes orders shipping directly to buyers and to stores. It's all the same shipment timeline.

The 4-6 week ETA is just to cover themselves. It's much faster. My ETA when ordering was the 22nd. Now it's the 16th.

You may be right - equally, you may be wrong. It will be interesting to see what happens this week. This is not the Watch, which has a very explicitly different try-on, order and pick-up regime. If this works like iPhones, there will be some stock delivered several times a week that is not pre-ordered. If not, you get to gloat - at least until the stores get stock, which I think we can say is an absolute certainty, the question being when.

My ship to store has been updated from April 22nd to April 16th! People should be getting their laptops this week.

When you say all 3 models, was one the 1.3 version

I don't think any store has the 1.3 on display. They almost never have BTO options, and so far nobody's even seen one. At my local store, all 12 display units were 1.1's - just like most (if not all) of the review units.

This will only be the case for this week. It's clear there were production issues which is why only the flagship or busy Apple stores received only demo units. No stores received inventory to sell. However, this second wave of shipments on 15/16 are shipping to buyers and stores.

Because there was low inventory they held back and only sent out rMB that were ordered online. The rest will be shipped to stores. I'm very confident stores will have them in stock this week on the 15/16 for sale to customers. The question is how many they will have in stock.

Probably not a lot, especially gold. I have been trying to remember something I read several weeks ago somewhere about supply constraints on this model? It wasn't in the threads here and I don't think it was an analyst's projection. I haven't been able to google it back up.

I keep going back and forth dammit! Right when I think I will get this laptop something else pops into my mind that I hook up to the computer. What good is portability if you have 4 damn adapters!

gold seems to be the model that is always low in supply.

Lack of ports is my only concern as well. I connect my 11" MBA to external HDD, external monitor, external audio in and 2 MIDI keyboards. As much as I dig the new rMB, I couldn't use it in my setup without lots of adapters.

and the adapters I am seeing do not add all of those things. It looks like there is an adapter for USBs, an adapter for Displays, etc. Are you suppose to just plug an adapter into an adapter :/

It would look like the Flying Spaghetti Monster perched itself on the left side of the new rMB. :)
