The same message has appeared for me. There are loads of threads about this very issue from previous months/years, so sadly it's an Apple thing and not related to updates to our individual orders.

Hmm the online store is real flaky, don't like ordering from but no choice if bto. The first attempt i made to order the rMBP from the store got stuck in 'We've received your order'. And then after a day it vanished but the authorising transaction was still on my card! Had to reorder.

The only way things change is by competition. Apple doesn't really have any real competition in my opinion, other pc and phone makers are always one step behind! I wish they would get their act together.

The only reason we have a rMBP is because of competition. Apple drives the entire industry. They innovate, everyone else chases. Just when the competition catches up, Apple releases something that sets its competition back again.

Back in the darker days when apple computers were garbage, there wasn't that industry leader and look what happened. 6 companies to choose from, each sell the same crappy product, same crappy software. But at least you got to choose what crappy plastic case you wanted...

Not exactly what I would call competition.

Well thats the reason their products are so popular yes! But they more or less have a monopoly on smartphones now. Its always good to have a choice between equivalent rival products is all I am saying, but you're right the competition is not even close.

How is the iphone a monopoly? Maybe in terms of iOS compared to how android and wp7 has multiple oems making the phones. But in terms of smartphone sales, 55 percent of the market split between Apple and Samsung, while the two of them command a combined 90 percent of all smartphone profits as well.

As for competition, just about every pc oem makes product that comes nowhere near the quality or value of the macbook line. I have learned this the hard way. However, that hopefully is about to change now that Vizio is entering he market with what seems to be a very impressive pc offering that will give HP, Dell, and the likes a wake up call. Stagnant markets are always ripe for disruption.

The problem is the competition are usually thinking in terms of 'what gimmicky feature can I add to differentiate us from the competition'. There isn't much innovation aside from apple. I admire google for trying with android as there is some genuinely cool stuff there but then again their execution could have been better.

I believe its something like a 55% split apple android not apple samsung.

Like i said, this is the only reason im prepared to wait 4 weeks lol! I don't have a choice!

I may be entirely wrong, but I don't think couriers pick up/ship on Sundays.

In the US & EU, but that was my point, Sunday is only a special day here as it's the Christian Sabbath but it may be a normal working day in China - like Friday is the Holy Day in Islamic countries so won't be a working day.

From analyzing previous reports and through multiple apple products they begin switching order status's to "preparing to ship" around 1:00pm EST (5hrs from now)

2 - 3 weeker here just went into "Preparing for Shipment" sometime overnight.

Ordered June 11 at about 8:10-8:30 PM EST.
2.6/16/512
Delivers - July 5 - 10
Canada, Ontario - Barrie.

So last week I was fortunate enough to find a base rMBP in the Lenox Mall Apple store here in GA. I bought it on the spot and for a week I was happy with it. Yesterday I decided to return it and placed an order for the 2.6/16GB/512GB model online. I just decided after using the base for a week that I was definitely going to need the enough storage and ram for what I plan to do with it. So now the wait begins. I'm currently slated for delivery July 23rd - July 27th . Here's hoping that gets moved up in the next couple weeks.

11pm 6/11er here changed to preparing overnight!!!!!!! Updated spreadsheet

Of course now that there's finally progress all the RAM talk is making me question my 8GB, but I've never thought a 3+ year old computer would be appealing and adequate to keep using if it only had more RAM, so I guess/hope it will be fine for my needs over that kind of time frame.

Have decided to be sensible and cancelled my finance order with apple and will call barclays tomorrow to confirm this has been done.

Cannot warrant paying back an extra £400 in interest charges and will just wait until I have got sufficient money in my bank to pay for it in cash or use a 0% APR credit card instead and by then hopefully the delivery times will be much better.

Checked mine today about an hour and half ago and saw it was "Preparing for shipment". I'm getting stoked.

2 - 3 week 'er
BTO
2.3/16GB/256GB
Standard Shipping

I've updated the spreadsheet

Looks like exciting times for 2-3 weekers. I was in the morning of the 12th so should be tuesday maybe turning to prepare for shipment.:D

2.7/16/512 moved to preparing for shipment this morning.
Jun 11th purchase ~7pm EDT
2-3 weeks Jun 29 - Jul 6
TB Ethernet adapter

Someone can feel free to add that to the spreadsheet. I do not have an entry on it yet.

Well, the ones that went to preparing to ship on Friday have now all made it to Memphis it looks like late last night. My flight detective work was right that they all left on FXD28 from Shanghai via Anchorage to Memphis. I don' think they will move now till Monday so don't worry about a day of no updates. Monday will be a fury of activity. From the spreadsheet most of that shipment was given 27th delivery estimates, I was given 28th but I would think most will deliver on the 25th or 26th even way up to me:):):) Just one or two more sleeps and Santa will be here.

For others you can use flightaware.com to search FXD planes. FXD90 goes direct to Memphis and FXD28 is the one going via Anchorage. Sometimes you may go to Anchorage and then instead onto Indianapolis as my Macbook Air did. Either way you can check the schedules and convert time zones on that site.

I ordered a 2.3/256/8 around 8:30 - 9:00 on the 11th. Still processing. Hoping the status changes by tomorrow. I also am in the 2-3 week time frame.

grrr. mine has been preparing for shipment for over 24 hours.

Whats the deal with that.

Same with mine. It looks like FedEx doesn't fly Sunday morning, so everyone that is preparing for shipment either Saturday or Sunday gets a Monday flight.

In the US, Barclay offers 12 months free financing if paid off during that time. Do they not offer that to the UK customers?

All this movement happened Saturday. The FedEx tracking info says it is scheduled for delivery on Wednesday, is it possible I get it before since its now in the US? Do FedEx work in the US on Sunday?

Sorry about the pic, I know I couldn't stand seeing those when my order was "in processing" :)
