FedEX will transport goods across the country and internationally daily. However, once it reaches a local distribution center, the 'buck' stops there until the next business day. For instance, they'll transport cargo from Memphis, TN (their primary hub) to another hub (e.g., Chicago). However, from Chicago to your local distribution center, that may not occur on a weekend and the cargo will sit there until the next business day.

All this movement happened Saturday. The FedEx tracking info says it is scheduled for delivery on Wednesday, is it possible I get it before since its now in the US? Do FedEx work in the US on Sunday?

Sorry about the pic, I know I couldn't stand seeing those when my order was "in processing" :)

I would guess there is a very good chance you will see it sooner than wednesday. Depends if you live close to a major airport so they will fly it or if it has to spend some time on a truck??

My MBPwRD was scheduled to be delivered on a Tuesday but it was delivered on a Monday so there's a good chance. No FedEX does not work on Sundays.

No FedEX does not work on Sundays.

That is not entirely accurate. FedEX may not 'work' by not accepting packages on a weekend. However, they are working by transporting goods by truck across the US as we speak. In fact, at my company, FedEX picks up packages on a Sunday by 4 PM and transports them across the country via truck. Hub to hub, FedEX is still transporting cargo. However, from HUB to local distribution centers, those may end up waiting till the next business day.

In a few hours, it'll be Monday in China and we should start seeing shipments commencing if anything.

Ya same question here except I live in Canada, like an hour away from Toronto.

I bought a 13" base today, scheduled and picked it up in store... then went to Fry's and bought a Momentus XT 750GB. This machine will replace a 2011 MacBook Air and 2011 iMac 27" :) Though I'm not sure how to feel about the screen real estate.

I ended up exchanging the 13" for a base 15"; much happier with the 15.

Same here, think somehow the stock lower models are getting the shaft? Haha

In the earlier posts, a lot of people who had their rMBP built to order seemed to get their shipped out a lot earlier than those who got stock. I guess it makes sense since they're making more money off of the BTO ones . . . regardless, I'm sure we (2-3 weekers who ordered stock on the 11th) will be getting ours sooner rather than later.

I am in the 2-3 week group and it has changed to preparing for shipping! It changed last night around 9pm CST. My card got charged and hit my account yesterday so hopefully I get it before friday!

BTW I ordered on June 11 around 8:30 pm CST. Have the 2.7ghz with 512gb ssd and 16gb memory.

wow alot 2-3 weeks having movements thats great news ~~~

hopefully next weekend will be 3-4 weekers time~~~

cheers

Just cancelled my order of the base model with 16gb in favor of the 2.6/16/512. Back to the end of the line I go...

I imagine a lot of the stock models are being held up by stores wanting them too. If bestbuy calls and says "Hey we're losing potential apple buyers every day by not having these in stock, we need you to distribute 2,000 across all our stores by next week", their order just took priority over yours. It's unfortunate, but thats how it works.

There are less people that take priority over the consumer on BTO options.

Good for you. I would have done the same. Now we have the same spec :) It'll be here before you know it!

Can anyone fix the spreadsheet? I tried to get it back where it was, but the 2nd and 3rd rows still need adjusting.

Can anyone find the next fedex flight out of china? I tried looking but could not find any for today.

Im assuming all the orders that went to prepared for shipment in the last two days will leave on the next flight!

That does make sense, as well as the fact that they're making more money off of BTO... that's how the world works!

Order just changed today to "Preparing for shipment". Ordered 11pm EDT on 6/11 with 6/29 to 7/6 delivery. 2.6/16/512 with EDU discount. Apple charged my card the full amount. I'll update the spreadsheet when I get to a computer.

I just think big SSD hard drive is not a big deal. So, I spent money instead of upgrading SSD to buying NAS which is more useful and it can steam things to iDevive, has huge capacity, download torrents, has iTunes server, time machine and stuffs. Moreover, spent less money and get reliability for backing up data as well as have time to kill by playing a new NAS while waiting for RMBP. So happy that I made a wise decision.

Out of curiosity, which NAS?
