Excellent...my rMBP has shipped.

2.3/16/256
Ordered: 21 June
Status: Shipped
Estimated Delivery Date: 23 July

Gave on on the waiting game. Googled the model number and limited the results to in stock. Ended up driving around 200 miles round trip to a best buy. I'm in love with this thing :) I doubt I will miss the 16gb of ram with what my needs will be down the road.

Thanks for the info.

Same result, but it sounds like at least my Apple guy was friendlier than your FedEx gal. ;)

:apple:

I'm in the same shipment as you guys, I was going to call but I guess there's no need now. I was really hoping to get it today! :(

does anyone from the uk know how long they take to get here roughly once they have shipped?

Also does preparing to ship just mean its waiting to get on the plane or that they still have to build it?

Has anybody seen any movement on 6/26 orders in the US? I was hoping with the change in shipping estimates that we may get our orders sooner than expected.

Nope I dont think we are that far along. Still shipping 19 -22. Probably late next week for you.

You returning all these machines are lost profits on Apple's part. They must also repackage them after you got your grubby hands on them. They could have sold each of those machines at full retail and made much more than they will now because you immediately depreciated them by making them used. Good going.

Grubby hands?

Considering the posts on this forums, I'd doubt if half of these machines are sold for full price. Enough people are self admittedly claiming the edu discount without legitimate grounds, how many others are also doing it but too ashamed to admit it?

And if my next Rmbp has any issues, rest assured its going back. I have a certain expectation of quality from apple, maybe because I'm not a "grubby" student and know the value of money.

I was quoted 10 days, but as I said on the UK order thread, my wife's MBA arrived 3 days earlier than what was quoted. Mine is scheduled to arrive on the 23rd, but I suspect it will likely show up on Friday, the 20th, making it a 7-day transit time in total. Different people have different experiences.

For your information, I was stuck in 'preparing to ship' for about 24 hours. I think it's built by that point, but I'm uncertain. Maybe someone else knows.

I'm actually a student (though aging) and claiming my EDU discount legitimately.

Their markup is huge anyway so I wouldn't worry about them making a profit too much!

However if everyone returned and exchanged their machines on a whim then it would obviously slow down order fulfilment for everyone else.

Thankfully not everyone is doing that!

Cheers for the info. Wow 7 days still some waiting to go then ;(.

Here!

Got my June 15th order yesterday, just 3 days shy of a month after ordering. Original promised delivery was July 16-20.

Migration assistant worked well from a time machine backup of my pre-unibody 2007 MBP. It took 5hrs to import 600gb of data (768 SSD has 750 free when new).

Most noticeable first impressions:

• Screen is not just sharper, but brighter than the 2007 MBP by 2 clicks.
• Much lighter
• Not noticeably hot at all in normal use. 2007 MBP would fry my legs when flash or video was onscreen
• Fans not heard unless converting iPhoto thumbnails, etc. Yay!
• I was hoping for zero beach balls, but I still get them in iPhoto (37k photos)
• VMware Fusion starts and runs MUCH better. It was almost unusable before.

Leaving all my daily apps open instead of closing them uses up 7.76GB of RAM. 8.24GB free.

2.6/16/768

Sigh, the laptop has a "clearance delay." Apparently they didn't have all the info. I am not the least bit amused right now. Almost a month now, hope its in good condition because I am not going through this again. No local Apple store so it would just be a flat return.

rMBP ordered June 19th.

My 6/11 order of a 2.7/16/768 was picked up in Shanghai on 7/10, departed on 7/11, and arrived in Anchorage at 1:35 PM ADT on 7/11. The last entry on FedEx Tracking shows "In Transit - Anchorage" at 2:37 PM ADT on 7/11.

FedEx is still showing expected delivery here in Houston by 4:30 PM CDT today (7/13). I'm hopeful they just haven't updated their tracking history, but I'm starting to wonder what is going on.

MacBook Pro w/ Retina - Order estimate not UPDATING

Hey, I am a new MacRumors user and I have question regarding my rMBP order. I ordered the computer June 21, 2012 and became a delivery estimate of 3 to 5 weeks which translates to 7/17 to 7/31. But since Apple dropped down the estimates to 2 to 3 weeks or 3 to 4 weeks in some cases, I wanted to know WHY isn't MY order updating. It is still 3 to 5. Can anyone clarify me?

Thanks in advance!

Refence: 16GB as BTO option.

Cool, I'm in H-Town too! Too bad mine is going to take sooooo long. :(

This is not cool... I got a delay
