Macbook Pro 2012 Order Status thread (all models)

Here's the trail it took.
Ordered: 6/13
"Shipped" according to Apple: 7/12
Actually shipped according to DHL: 7/13
Stuck in customs for a day.
Left Shenzen 7/14, went on a little sight seeing tour in the Yangtze delta before arriving in Hong Kong 7/16.
Arrived in Bangkok/Thailand: 7/17
ETA Chiang Mai/Thailand: 7/18 - pretty confident on that as customs already cleared. Although this is DHL maybe they'll send it by pony express.

Preparing For Shipment

My 2.6/16/512 rMBP has finally gone to Preparing for Shipping. I ordered it on 6/22/12. I just wanted to offer some hope to those still waiting.
 
Ordered 2.6 16/512 on July 5th

Still processing I did call apple and they upgraded me to expideted shipping. The lady on the phone was very nice. Have not been to store to see one I hope it lives up to its hype. The lady also said they are catching up on orders and deliveries are improving. I hope she was wright.
 
Just changed to Preparing for Shipment!!! Yeeee!!!!

Ordered a 2.3/16GB/256GB RMBP on 6/22 and today, it changed to Preparing for Shipment!!!

So anxious for this bad boy to arrive! Just a little bit longer.

Interesting... why your macbook was going to the Prague and then back to Germany? Is in the Prague something special?
 
Ordered a 2.6/16/512 rMBP on 6/26 along with Apple TV, ethernet adaptor and gift card from the EDU store in Switzerland.
Changed to preparing 7/15.
Shipped 7/16.
Products will be merged in Milano, no tracking available for the moment.

They picked it up a day late; then they sent it around China for 2 days. Altogether the DHL loss on this shipment is around 3 days.

The machines are de facto in Bangkok and past customs right now. If I was you I'd tell DHL to leave it wherever it is now, and go pick it up from the office.

Oh yeah my complaint to Apple is on its way.

Update: As somebody pointed out to me on another forum, Apple uses DHL freight for shipments to Thailand. Not express. That's why it's so slow!!

So if you've ordered in Asia, calling Apple and complaining to get an update to express shipping might be a good idea.

As far as I know there is no option on the Apple order page to choose a faster shipment method.

I guess you have to do that before it's shipped though ;)

I call Apple Singapore today, they did offer me an expedited shipping. 3 hours after that they called that they cannot do expedited shipping. Only standard shipping :(. No bonus peripherals :D
 
I just received my rMBP. The display is amazing, obviously, but I can't believe this is a 15-inch laptop. I've owned 15-inch laptops in the past, but for some weird reason it feels like a bigger laptop. I can't imagine myself getting a 17-inch laptop.

I can't find any flaws atm, but I guess I have 14 days to play with it to see if there are any problems with this unit. Oh, the speakers are great too!

It's a wonderful laptop guys, but the only thing I'm worried about is whether or not I'll be able to lug it around with me when I leave the house. My sleeve isn't here yet so I'll wait for that to arrive before taking the laptop out.

Same for me (except for the "Switzerland" part, I'm in Italy).
I got down more information from here: https://atlas.flextronics.com/apps/tracktrace/trk_tracking.asp (region: Europe, customer reference: APP)

Hi, I'm italian too!
Those are just my two cents: I tried to call Apple in order to get (paying, of course!) the expedited shipment. They refused me very firmly, but I can read other users here that have had this as a free upgrade. You can try, if you want :D
As for me, I love this machine (and I need it for my work) but I don't want to be crazy ;)

well, im not really in the mood to spend my day calling apple.. im just kinda upset because i saw people that ordered after me getting it to "preparing" before me.. dunno, anyway.. i still cant see the money charge on my credit card, when apple charge me for the rMBP? after preparing process?
