Just placed my order for the Retina 2.3Ghz with 16Gb of memory. Says 2-3 weeks but I got the expedited shipping...

Expedited shipping is how long it takes for the package to ship to you from the deliverer (FedEx, UPS, etc...).

The 2-3 weeks estimate is the time it takes Apple to allocate a unit for you and hand off to the deliverer. The expedited won't changed the 2-3 weeks time.

:D managed to track the right flight today and my (June 20th 2.6/16/512) rmbp just arrived in Anchorage!!!

hopefully it won't be long now- just a trip to Memphis and then up to Indianapolis. SO ready to get this thing!

Well, after mine being shipped, this is what my tracking looks like... seems like it's pretty standard for these to be picked up by FedEx after cut off. Anyone have any idea what time I'll start seeing some movement on this?

just returned my 2.6/16/512 and waiting for my 2.3/16/256 coming by next week.

hope everything is flawless

why would you return that and downgrade your config? buyers remorse?

kind of... first one was without discount, on the second my sister offered me her edu discount... so from 2.6/512 to 2.3/512 and also including sales tax in Canada it was 800+tax = CDN $904

for $100 i got a 1TB usb3 drive, and saved 804 in the process....

hoping i won't regret it

Just placed my order for this bad boy:

•
2.7GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz
•
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
•
256GB Solid State Drive
•
SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
•
MacBook Pro 15-inch Hi-Res Antiglare Widescreen Display

I didn't get the retina even though I paid the same (I actually used the edu discount) because the thickness/weight didn't matter to me and I don't think the GPU is quite ready to push those extra pixels for heavy graphics tasks (I plan on playing some games and don't want to downscale to a non-native resolution because of the screen quality downgrade).

Either way, I think I'm going to be plenty happy with the Hi-Res since it is still an upgrade from my 2008 PRE-unibody 1440x MBP.

I'm excited, I even bought a rain stand with it. :)

I honestly miss my previous-generation regular MBP and prefer it to my new Retina one for one simple reason: glare. Sigh.... Good purchase for you!

Totally wasn't expecting it but I got my shipment email this morning! Ordered on 6/29 8gb base model. Feeling really lucky right now, was a 3-4 week wait when I ordered, but only took 2 and a half!

Now I'm just confused, mine is in Ireland ... how on Earth did it get there, I live in Switzerland so seems a bit far off.

Also the tracking number given has no shipping company attached so I have not a clue when to expect it ...
