Question, does FedEx ship from china on weekends? I'm not talking deliver, I'm saying fly package to U.S.

Doubt it. See the link I posted a couple of messages back. It does regularly ship from Japan to the U.S. on Sundays but not from China.

I too was windows user i begin with XP and than ended with vista 2 years ago at first i hesitated to get on the apple bandwagon because of the lack of software but now things have changed with the appstore and steam.

Today i would say windows just plan sucks and HP is its leader i had a pavilion laptop with a ton of preinstalled crap ware and besides this on load up missing files and errors kept popping up i noticed this on my friends toshiba satellite recently which runs windows 7.

Did i forget to mention the ton of useless stickers and blinking lights.

For all those idiots that keep bad mouthing apple just take a closer at the windows interface.

1. it ain't simple to use to for instance to go to music you need to click a mountain of menus whereas in iMac one click on iTunes and you are there, good grief even removing a flash drive is like rocket science in windows.

2. those constant freezes i don't ever recalling my iMac freezing or having a blue screen pop unexpectedly.

3. the os is dirt cheap 20 bucks for OSX vs 200 bucks for one version of many.

4. FInally and most importantly the hardware and software work.

That's a god awful post. Only reason I'm buying the mac is not for the software; but for the hardware (in which case is the display). Windows plain sucks because you're experience is a HP pavilion? (which is a <$600 laptop aimed at consumer segments) What a joke, comparing a 1k+ macbook to a consumer barebones computer. Why not compare laptops of similar prices? HP Elitebook? Dell Precision? Lenovo Thinkpads? Fujitsu? All of the models I've just listed have equal or better construction.

I'm upgrading from a 5 year old Fujitsu laptop that is made of magnesium alloy (doesn't bend like aluminum), spill proof, wacom IPS panel, and a foray of incredible hardware.

Please leave your fanboyism aside--one of the very many reasons I've never used a mac in the first place.

..says the guy that led off with the "darkside" post.

And? I've never found a need to use OSX. I'm not a photographer, or "art" major. My use for a laptop is for an occasional game, hardware/cad engineering, and software development (with MS VS). There was absolutely no need for me to dabble with a $2k+ machine.

Having said that, I saw a picture of 2880x1800 with W8, and was amazed by the size of the workspace, hence why I purchased the machine.

w00t, Fedex just updated and confirmed that my rmbp arrived to memphis from anchorage an hour+ ago.

Apple is not the darkside. Just because a company wasn't good at one point, happens to rise above the ashes to deliver a good product that consumers like. That's not the darkside.

That's some hater that's jealous his favorite company isn't getting the same attention.

BOOOOOO WHOOOOOOOOOO

As of Friday 10pm ct mine has shipped! Expected the 20th. Took 14hours to go from prepping shipment to actually shipping.

Wow, they overnighted my gift card with FedEx from South Carolina on thursday and it arrived Friday morning at my door.

----------

Why would they send it to Calgary and then Toronto instead of just straight to Toronto?

I didn't even get a tracking number for my gift card, just "shipped" :/

Ordered an hour after store went online.
The shippingstatus was changed yesterday to "shipped". :)

Mine too! Still says delivers by June, 25th tough.
They will merge the gift card and the MBP shipment in Prag according to the website...maybe that's why it will take so long? :(

+1, curious as it seems that Apple isn't even processing any of the 768G units. While ordering my RMBP it immediately bumped from 5-7days up to 3-5weeks just by increasing the SSD size.

I noticed that too when I was ordering mine. I still went with it. I had upgraded the drive in my Mini a year ago from 320 to 750. It sits now with 400 on it so I knew going with 500 on my new MBPR would fill in less than a year. So I opted for the biggest available.

That and using Tunespan should keep me OK for a few years.

Mine has finally shipped. Day 1 order with the orignal 5 to 7 day target time. 2.7 GHz / 512 GB / 16 GB. It apparently would have shipped yesterday, but my bank originally blocked the transaction.

Downvoting everyone who's trying to hijack this into a Mac vs PC thread.

Let's stay on topic people.

EDIT: Or not even necessarily on topic, but let's just keep that particular holy way out of this thread.

I do have to giggle a little at someone saying the HP is the leader but apparently the EliteBook came out 4 years ago (last HP we bought was 4+ years ago) and HP has redone their lines a little. We used to buy HP because they used to be one of the best commercial makers of laptops. The DV7 line has a $1299 base price so all of them aren't under $600. Anyway, we personally had trouble with HP, so then I switched to Sony. Again, had more trouble and gave up and decided to switch to Apple.

Although if we didn't switch to Apple, I would've looked at Asus, MSI and some other systems where I can configure my own system online. The biggest drawback to those where size and weight (6 or 7 lbs for a 15" laptop and definitely not thin).

Our packages have arrived in Memphis as of <20 minutes ago. Hopefully they get them out to our local FedEx facilities tomorrow morning so we can go pick them up.

I just checked and was so happy to see this! Like a crazy lady, I just called FedEx to see if there was a chance I could pick it up at my facility today (my tracking now says its in my city) and he said its still at the airport. He said to keep checking to see I it moves, but most likely I'll have to wait until Monday.

Bubble burst.
