I'm a light user honest, I never went over 3 gigs of ram in my old 2010 13" MBP. And so I chose to go on the regular side of things and put the extra money into some accessories.

Finally got a laptop stand
Finally got the bluetooth keyboard and mouse
Finally got an external hard drive
Also picked up some cables/adapters
Also an external optical disk drive
And a battery charger doo-dad ;)

I'm a very excited 18 year old hah! Dealing with Wendy's customers for decades it feels like is finally paying off!

And if you have to take or elect to take a graphics course in college? or programming ? you would be better off with a better system. You would automatically get the 512 hd so no external necessary. I cant imagine why you need an external optical drive( buying external defeats the purpose of buying this system unless you know you need it) apple would give you some of these cables etc.. if you call cs and ask nicely !

Im majoring in public relations, I am confident in my computer purchase.

I called and asked customer service nicely several times regarding my iWork disk and the external optical drive. I bought iWork in 2010 on disk when i got my original Pro. Now that I have a computer that lacks an ODD I have no way to get iWork installed...

I asked Apple Care, iTunes support and even my local store if they could convert the disk into a digital download for me. Nope, their solutions: buy iWork again on the mac app store or buy an external disk reader... So I did. In my experiences Apple Customer Service isnt anything special, I just like the computers.

Also the external hard drive is for backups silly cat!

Hah don't give him grief, if I wouldn't have moved I would have gone right into college, with loans and bleh. I hate loans.

This working will have my first year paid off when I start so I'll be able to pay my second year off while in school my first year hopefully ending out with very little <$10K in loans ;)

It was in the wrong context but the question was legit... Good for you.
I'll now go back to judging behind my screen

When is my computer going to leave China?! I still don't see a flight that it could depart on according to flight aware.

I just hate that stores don't stock upgraded ram models, seems like a common thing to sell
They don't even cary updated HDD models. The 15" MacBook Pro that I'm ordering tomorrow has a 7200RPM HDD and a Hi-Res screen and Apple Stores don't carry it. I even went with just the Hi-Res screen and they still don't stock it. They only laptops Apple Stores sell are the bese models with no fancy upgrades. Looks like I'll be waiting 1.5/2 weeks before I can have my MBP.

Ordered it around 6pm est. Received the "thank you for your order" email around 2:41am est. Not sure if those thank you emails have any merit on the times they were sent out.

Config is base 2.3 retina with 16gb upgrade.
Just a boring update...been about 12 hours since I went into processing and no updates as of yet. I'm one of the 7-10 days people.

I ordered a 2.7/16/768 on the 11th at about 2 PM via the Buisness apple team and was quoted 3-5 weeks. Still says processing. People please update.

You call your local sorting facility and tell them you want to pick it up from the facility. That's what I did when I got my first iPod. They hold it in the main office.

I live in Longmont (north of Boulder). Although your package arrived there, that facility is actually closed to pickups. You have to request a pickup online at your local fedex/kinkos store, atleast in Colorado

Isn't the sorting facility at DIA?

Hey! My box is sitting next to your box, wherever they both may be. I am sure there'll be updates in the morning. My guess is Tuesday delivery if you're not in a really hard to get to location.

Exactly, its actually on the airport. Over the past year or so ( I order a lot of amazon pime items) its the same story from customer service: "that facility isnt available for pickup, its a secured facility blah blah etc"

Call tem if you'd like to confirm ;)

Well I work at DIA and have been on the FedEx facility myself. So maybe I can do a little scoping.

Hey guys,

Just wanted to give you guys an update on my order. Ordered base retina model scheduled for 7-10 days shipping. It just went in as "Preparing for Shipment". Hurrah! Looks like the 7-10 days are starting to move!

7-10 here and still Processing. But then again, it hasn't been 7-10 business days yet so good to here some are starting to move. Why do the 2-3 week people even think anything will happen this soon?

Well, It technically says 2-3 week delivery, not 2-3 weeks till shipped. I'm a 3-4 weeker, so I'm not expecting anything, but ground shipping from china can take up to a week, so something in the next couple days for 2-3 weekers isn't that crazy if the goal is an early in the 2.
