i created a restore point. hold up and let me fix it. please don't delete any entries in the future. We can learn from the past orders.

Why not just move the old processed orders from the previous groups to a new spreadsheet tab and keep the current tab for pending orders only for 2-3 and 3-4 weekers? Most of us only have an interest in knowing when the status change occurs for their own group. After that, it's just a matter of a night or two before it arrives.

----------

I hope there isn't a way for FedEx to check to see how many times i've clicked "track package".

That is a good idea. We could do that except some of the older orders are gone and there are so many people idling the spreadsheet that I am unable to even access it to modify my info.

Apple store

I called Apple to see if there was any progress(3-4 week). When I asked if I might get i quicker in store he answered probably.... Seems like they don't prioritize us that order online since we already have paid it.

Could there be hope since other cancel their orders and buy their in the stores?

Where do you guys get your delivery date estimate?? I only see"Ships: 2-3 weeks." but no actual dates like you guys are seeing.

My Retina was ordered through business at Apple store end of day on the 11th and it is still "processing". It's driving me NUTS!!

See pic below:

Mine is still awaiting payment as I'm buying it on finance through Barclays but they have included a date, hopefully it won't surpass it.

I hate to say this, but according to the Apple rep I spoke to, your order isn't actually confirmed until Apple receives confirmation from Barclays — then your shipping info is updated. I had the same thing: Ordered mine on June 11 through Barclays finance, then when Apple received confirmation on June 12, my date changed from 5-7 days to 3-4 weeks.

Maybe mine was just an exception, but again, that's what I was told when I called up to ask why it had changed.

Probably not. You should probably just cancel and go grab one in stores. Heck I'd even volunteer to be the only one that doesn't cancel my online order. I'll stick around and let you guys know if I'm still waiting or not while you guys all go pick one up from the store. So just cancel all of your orders ladies and gents. I'll let you know my findings as soon as my status updates.

Yeah I was thinking that, I'm not too worried though as I'm off to a few music festivals between now and the start of August, hopefully the payment will have cleared by Tuesday and they can start to process my order :D

Well, I wish I was as patient as you. :)

There's no point in doing this until next week since if there are any units at the apple store this morning, they are sure to be already gone by now. You are more likely to get one if you ordered the base stock model.

If you ask me I would consider this a fail on apples part. Keeping people waiting without any decent feedback except for 'Processing' is just bad business.

Don't know about now (because I do not buy them anymore) but I remember when DELL would show order, processing, building, built, packaging, ship (or something like that). Anyways it was a hell of a lot more info that Apple.

just got sick of the 3-4 weeks wait called my local apple store they had one and went and picked up my 2.3/8/256 and cancelled my online order. The only problem is my 100$$ gift card which i have to wait 3-5 days for iTunes to refund back. Other than that i'm a happy camper.....good luck to you all.

A 3-4 weaker just jumped ahead one spot. :D

If I was in the 3-4 weeks or longer group (I'm not) and ordered a stock config (I did not), I would try my chances at apple retail stores, macmalls, microcenters and whatnot. The odds are they will have numerous shipments before these later online orders are fulfilled.

Looks like there are at least 20+ people in the (3-4)+ group with stock orders.

btw, 3-4 week orders cancelling does not affect me in any way. not being evil. not that there's anything wrong with being evil...

Well, I have an update for y'all. I got impatient and drove over to the Houston Galleria Apple store and picked up a base model Retina MBP.

I had on order a base with 16GB upgrade, but I really don't "need" it and hell, if I need it next year, I'll buy a new one. I don't keep laptops very long.

So, here I am typing on my new laptop and it who is purdy! I'll update the spreadsheet in a bit.

Happy Camper.

I want to know if member TheTechTeen can confirm that he ordered his BTO at 5PM pacific and his shipped yesterday.

I order the exact same model at 4PM pacific, thats not fair if his really did ship before.

My Best Buy experience...

I reserved the rMBP last Thursday and received an email confirming my order. So, this morning I receive an email indicating that my order is ready for pickup. I'm excited, so I drive over and show the pickup desk my email on my phone. The woman says,"we don't have any in." I respond,"sooooooo, what's this email about?" She looks at my phone again and proceeds to ask her fellow employees why the email was sent to me. At this point, 25 minutes has passed and I'm becoming increasingly annoyed. After 3 "checks" in the back, it has been determined that my model was scanned and sold to someone else this morning who didn't reserve it. After an hour and a half of standing, a manager comes out and apologizes acknowledging that they sold my reserved model. Well, long story short, I'm 100% guaranteed a rMBP on Tuesday...so they say...lol.

I don't think you understand sarcasm. In which case you should definitely cancel your order. Especially if you are waiting for a BTO. :D

I already sent him a private message and said his order is still processing.

Didn't look at the spreadsheet for a day and damn did it get a whole lot beter!
For everyone who wonders where the shipped orders went, they are on the second sheet (select in bottom left).

I added a 'statistics' row at the top of the shipped table. Showing the average amount of days it went to shipped too early and average amount of days it took to go from shipped to received and average amount of days from order to delivery. Currently we are at:

Avg. days shipped too early: 8.5
Avg. days shipped to delivery: 3.14
Avg. days order to delivery: 9.13

Owyeah! :D

If we all keep our status up to date we should be able to see some really nice averages in a week or so.

The spreadsheet is awesome. It's the best Retina shipping envy porn on the web. I like having all the completed and averaged columns on their own page.

As I've been busy refreshing every day to just see my order ship being the last 7-10 day order that I know of, I haven't kept up to date on when the FedEx flights have been leaving China.

Can someone fill me in on how many are leaving per day and when they are leaving. Thanks.
