I'd like to purchase a decent screen protector for my TBMBP but I can't seem to find any in the UK. Any suggestions here?

Any suggestions? I looked on Amazon but can't seem to find too many with decent reviews.
There's a local Polish company that makes both film and glass protectors. I've let them borrow mine for measurements, and in turn I'll get a couple of them for free :D They're not on amazon though - http://3mkprotection.com. I think you'll have to email them, because they've just received my 15' today

I just got the Radtech screensaverz, and it works nice. Although, I think I can feel the lid closing a bit differently when it's placed - like it doesn't click as clicky when you close it. I hope the cloth isn't pressing on the monitor too much or something.

Otherwise, the cloth itself seems quite nice.

I have one of these shipping to me too, but looks like it won't get here before my MBP.

Yes this is disappointing to see. The Dell XPS uses Gorilla Glass and I see no reason for the higher priced MBP not to have something similar.

This kind of thing more than anything else makes me not want to buy an Apple product. I don't mind paying more for a product that's high in quality - you get what you pay for. What I get irked about is when you that premium product falls short of the much cheaper competition on critical features - like scratch-able screens or lack of battery life (on this year's mbp).

feel free to stick with any other non Apple offerings, but I doubt the XPS13 with Gorilla Glass is going to much (or, if any) more durable.

I received my ScreenSavrz, and it works well. The lid closes fully.

However, I did notice that the cloth leaves an impression on the screen. It wipes away cleanly, but just something to note

The Mac screens are said to be less reflective, which I care about more than whether I can scratch it by not treating it right. I wish they still offered a matte screen.

You seem to have been misinformed about battery life.

I've still just been winging it without a gap in between, the 'marks' on the screen I saw from it came off easily,

I guess ymmv tho

Has anyone else in the forum reported any issues like this before about the new MBP? I find it very hard to believe this is not due to something the user is doing, unless of course its a widespread issue.

My left shift leaves dust on the screen at one exact spot. So far I've been able to wipe it off, however, after some very careful examination, I noticed that the screen is a bit "scratched" at that spot. It's so small, I don't think I would be able to capture it with a photo, visible only with me lighting the area with iPhone flash at an extreme angle.

Now, I don't mind this, honestly, I wouldn't be able to notice it unless I payed attention and put the effort in. However, what worries me is this: this occured with me just closing the lid. I did not put any pressure on the laptop, I carry it in an Incase bag with a special protected compartment with lots of room inside. The crazy thing is, I even take precautions not to lay the bag with the laptop upside down inside! I also keep the keyboard and screen clean, as much as I can (I clean it almost daily). Also, this computer is, like, 1.5 months old.

So, if this happens after just a month, to someone who takes almost excessive care of their laptop - that is just - wrong.

With that said - if this causes small micro-scratches that are not visible when the screen is on, I'm perfectly fine with that. As long as I don't see the scratches while I work - I don't mind. It is really a small scratch, even for micro-scratch standards :) But, as I said, I'm a bit scared it grows larger.

I'm currently using a Radtech screensaverz cloth and that protects the screen, at least I think it does. I don't mind using it for the rest of the computer's lifetime, however, I am not sure if this cloth can cause even more damage, by capturing dust between it and the screen. Radtech website says it's designed not to scratch even the most delicate surfaces, but I'm not sure this prevents dust from scratching it.

This is what bugs me - for a premium, well built laptop that I payed more than 3000 euros, I shouldn't have to carry some cloth and worry about things like this. I hope my issue doesn't escalate further and I am able to forget about this after a while. While I do take great care of my devices, I don't mind a hairline scratch or two, as long as it doesn't impair functionality in any way.

I've been using the Radtech Cloth since I got my MBP in December. No issues with it. I feel like it closes just fine.

Yeah, me too. Still, I am worried about dust getting stuck on it. How often do you wash it?

Btw, I just examined my 2013 MBP - it also has keymark micro-scratches. I never noticed it before, so this is another case where I read about something on forums and then obsess over it :) If I didn't know about it, I probably would never notice it.

I had a few scratches just like the OP, took my laptop in, they replaced it for a new one...

Mind you it is now my 4th replacement..... Different issues each time.

Not pleased.

Also does anyone know if we can get the Radtech keyboard cover in the UK?

Order it from their site. If they shipped it here, they will certainly ship it to UK.

Yeah had a look at that option, turns out it costs $28 in total for something that actually costs $10. so wondered if there was a cheaper way of getting hands on it.

I have the screensavrz by radtech and I feel like it prevents the laptop from closing fully.

I bought this
