Which sucks for application menu bars that stretch across the screen.I assume the menu bar will be pushed up into that area, freeing up more of the 16:10 screen area to be worked with.

They'll adapt. Assuming this is ~iPhone X size, it's going to be, what, just over an inch? And that's on a display that will be circa 13.5 inches wide.Which sucks for application menu bars that stretch across the screen.
They could wrap around the notch. If there is not enough room, they will have to update the app I guess and change things a bit.Which sucks for application menu bars that stretch across the screen.
When 10.0 shipped the non-clickable center apple icon was the apple menu on the left, so you are proposing that a feature which didn't even survive out of beta due to complaints will be a permanent part of the OS for years to come. The idea would be that this cuts into the center of the menu bar — which is what Mac OS X Public Beta also already did.
They should rather call DxO for help them because what you're inferring are (a bunch of) optical corrections; something for which DxO is known for.If only someone would come up with a software solution to that problem. I mean, Apple can put crappy cameras in iPhones and make them look somewhat useable with filters and AI. I'm pretty sure if they'd work hard enough, they could solve the problem with a camera at the bottom of the screen. They could even solve the problems with eyes when looking at the screen and make it seem like people always look directly into the camera. Maybe they could apply some background filters too and remove background noise in audio and so on.
Apple can do this! I believe in them. They should call it Nvidia Broadcast... err, I mean Apple Broadcast, not Nvidia! Apple! Apple Broadcast! 😂

Steve would have never allowed any notches, I won't either on anything other than the phone, I am still pissed at the notch design
The iPad Pro is much thicker than a MacBook Pro screen.iPad Pro has a thin bagel and yet, it has a Face ID. WTF are they thinking?
How about no...How about a touchscreen-MBP announcement on Monday!
That will probably be about as popular as the Touchbar was.How about a touchscreen-MBP announcement on Monday!
Why not?
I know but people LOVE to bring it up with every new/revised MBP launchThat will probably be about as popular as the Touchbar was.

For Face ID, even if it isn't in this year's, they'd want the new design in place for when it is added. All of that ugliness for a 1080p camera?
