Wow! I was a little bummed all day after seeing that they delayed the shipping because I didn't want to have to wait an entire month to get a MBP. Well, I'm happy now! I'm ordering a 15" MBP tomorrow with a HD upgrade tomorrow!

I want a MBP announcement this coming Tuesday, Jan. 29th, and would be very disappointed if the whole premise of this thread is because of a shoulder case

Apple only ship your order when ALL parts of your order are in stock.
Same here. I will be buying through the HE store from my uni, and if I could order online from home, I probably would have done so by now
Wait, is there a different HE discount if you order from your university's network than logging into the HE store on Apple's website from home? I can select my university from their finder thing and it says I'm on the special page for it, but all the prices are the same as the regular HE store...

I'm in the boat with everyone waiting for the MBP update, BUT I just went on the apple US online store, and every MBP model says it will ship in 24 hours. Are you in UK (or somewhere else), macsleuth? It doesnt make sense why yours would be delayed and none else's...

Last September, I ordered a MBP, a 30GB iPod, and a printer from Apple. They all came separately.

Hmm, a HE discount is a HE discount. You can't log onto the HE store on Apples wesbite from home because it goes through a portal connected with your universities network. The store that you can access from home is a normal Education store for college/school students but the prices are slightly higher on there (i.e. a low end Macbook on the Education store is £656 whereas on the HE store it's £601).
Is this true? When I log in to the Education store, I get two options. The first is to "take me there" (to my custom apple store for my school), and the second is for the "shop the standard apple store for education". For the first option, I have to log in through my school's website. I've never noticed a difference in the prices though. AND I've never tried it while on camps. I get $100 off the MB, $50 off the iMac, and $200 off the MBP and MP. Anyone get different prices?
In the HE store, you get 14% off the laptops (both Macbook and Macbook Pro) and 16% off the Mac Pro.

Got an e-mail from my Apple rep, going to get the order released Monday with out the Brenthaven bag.
Now I'm bummed out thinking an update is around the corner.
But not really sure, ya know.
Ok, I've taken enough time with this post.
Resolved, getting order this week.
If anything changes I'll update you.
Going to start checking the other posts again, so much information floating around here......

YOU STILL COULD BE GETTING THE NEW ONE!!! That could be why its not shipping till tomorrow or wednesday....cuz thats when the new MBP may come out!!! DONT LOOSE HOPE!

in my eyes, i see the 200$ restocking fee worth it...because by buying the revised base model, i will most likely recieve the processors speeds as well as the graphics memory of the 2500$ one, plus other benefits
