Wow! I was a little bummed all day after seeing that they delayed the shipping because I didn't want to have to wait an entire month to get a MBP. Well, I'm happy now! I'm ordering a 15" MBP tomorrow with a HD upgrade tomorrow!
Well because more than 1/2 of all threads are of those waiting for the next thing. If the MBP's are updated simply with a processor and perhaps multitouch, the next revision will be for the Montevina chipset. Folks will be waiting for that. Then after Montevina they will wait again for the next and the next and the next and the....
Hey gang.
just duplicated my order to see what ship dates were showing up.
I noticed that one of the items I ordered has a 3 to 4 week estimated ship date. It's the Brethhaven Metrolite Shoulder case in black.
Dang.
I want a MBP announcement this coming Tuesday, Jan. 29th, and would be very disappointed if the whole premise of this thread is because of a shoulder case
Wouldn't Apple ship your MBP right away, and the shoulder case later?
Same here. I will be buying through the HE store from my uni, and if I could order online from home, I probably would have done so by now![]()
Last September, I ordered a MBP, a 30GB iPod, and a printer from Apple. They all came separately.Apple only ship your order when ALL parts of your order are in stock.
Think I found out why, the case for the MBP has changed to shipping, 3 - 4 weeks.
Might change it on Monday to get delivery sonner.

Wait, is there a different HE discount if you order from your university's network than logging into the HE store on Apple's website from home? I can select my university from their finder thing and it says I'm on the special page for it, but all the prices are the same as the regular HE store...
Hmm, a HE discount is a HE discount. You can't log onto the HE store on Apples wesbite from home because it goes through a portal connected with your universities network. The store that you can access from home is a normal Education store for college/school students but the prices are slightly higher on there (i.e. a low end Macbook on the Education store is £656 whereas on the HE store it's £601).
Is this true? When I log in to the Education store, I get two options. The first is to "take me there" (to my custom apple store for my school), and the second is for the "shop the standard apple store for education". For the first option, I have to log in through my school's website. I've never noticed a difference in the prices though. AND I've never tried it while on camps. I get $100 off the MB, $50 off the iMac, and $200 off the MBP and MP. Anyone get different prices?
Ok, just got an update e-mail from Apple.
Looks like everything but the Brenthaven bag will ship tomorrow or Wednesday.
It would be nice to get it for the week-end, but it's more likely to arrive next week.
So this Question is dead. My order is not delayed because MBP update is around the corner.
(MBP update may still be around corner, but I'm not getting it,).
