In this photo, it says "MacBook" not "MacBook Pro." The is no space in the writing on the lower bezel The supposed "Pro" is also not even with the rest of the typeface.

The last part is what appears to be a blur of reflected light in an ironic spot; see the two marks circled in red:

No??

Addendum:

If my theory above is indeed correct, then who gives a crap if it's only glossy... Nothing will have changed on the MB. But god, kill me now: us who rely on color accuracy, we do **NEED** a non-glossy MBP.

The mystery...

And every one of the reasons being posted why this is "fake" and "obviously photoshopped", are complete BS. The bezel looks the way it does on the left side due to motion artifact.

What do you mean by "motion artifact"? How could it be that only the left side of the MBP is moving relative to the observer while the right side is at rest? Think about it: it would entail that the MBP is either rotating relative to the observer, or that it's being squeezed. Both options seem unlikely.

I'm not saying that it's fake necessarily, but this is an unsolved mystery to me.

I hope this is the machine. I like the way it looks.

I dunno why people are freaking out about the ports. When I'm on the go, less is better. When I'm at my desk I hook up to a bunch of stuff including USB hubs and a Firewire hub for convenience. I like the ports all on one side too. It's the closest thing I get to a docking station!

The buttonless pad is interesting. I wonder if it'll work kind of like the mighty mouse and let you devote part of the pad to act as a button (or buttons) or if it's all about tapping now. (How do I highlight?)

It looks sweet too.

I hope that's either DisplayPort or some variant for video out.

I seem to be in the minority that likes glossy better (although maybe it's not a minority, just the fact that negativity is usually louder) but we haven't seen if there is an option yet so quit freaking out.

I'm stoked really. About the only thing that troubles me is the prospect of Firewire being absent from the MacBook. We'll see tomorrow I guess.

Never mind then, that'll teach me to put the correct signs on my latitudes and longitudes. Anyway, aside from the Photoshop reference in the file, I could live with this, as long as there was some brilliant idea behind the buttonless trackpad... I don't mind a glossy screen.

Apple overdid the design for the macbook pro.

WAY TOO MUCH BLACK, and a glass screen?!

In my opinion, this redesign could have been legendary. All they needed to tweak was bigger trackpad, better keyboard, more rounded, and have a magnetic latch.

They did not need to mess with the screen or firewire.

I was toying with the idea of forgoing the MBA for the new MBP, but i think i won't because the MBA stays true more to Apple's winning design.

I said this early on in the posts, but I'll say it again since I keep seeing people freak-out about "no trackpad button". If you actually look at the picture, there is obviously a trackpad button the exact same size as the MacBook Air's.

the "extra spacing" between keys on the left side of the keyboard is also a motion artifact. the blurred silver is brighter and so masks the blurred black.

Double tap and drag. I used to do all the time on an HP from 2002. Haven't been able to do it on my MBP though. It's a software issue; probably fixed. (It better be!)

Yup, I'm currently doin it on my macbook. Actually, the button doesn't work any more on my macbook :( so the trackpad is my only option (other than a mouse).

You know, it'd be funny if the new trackpad would act like the scroll wheel on the ipod: you would actually press on the trackpad -- if u press the left side, it'd act like a left click, and same idea for right clicking.

That's fake IMO

The display looks to be an iMac display.

P.S: black keys on aluminum is dead ugly.

Whether or not the images are real is besides the point. I have silently observed new posts posted on the forum, and I say, it's a great effort by everyone. Also, great effort on Apple's side to be able to produce so much interest concerning product updates. Ahh, the wonders of a marketing strategy.

I don't understand your thought process. So you HAVE to have the latest computer, be it mac or PC? Like, you can't live with the last generation MBP? I don't know about most of you, but I don't switch OSes willy-nilly. I use a Mac for the OS, I can't go to Windows, the hardware isn't even in the equation.

uhhh no. I rely on firewire for video productions and a lot of my extra hard disks. I'd rather get a new computer running vista for my production stuff as long as I can either run final cut or premiere.

I'd hold onto my Mac for routine stuff.

Then why does it cascade evenly across the top from side to side? Looks more to me like he did a sloppy job of inserting the iMac-esque screen. I don't buy the blurriness theory when you look along the top....look at the edge of the glass, it just screams Photoshop.

the bright flecks (reflections) on the display are all burred in the same direction as the keyboard. it's harder to see motion blur at the top of the frame because it isn't as well lit and so the contrast is low, but you can see it at the top left corner of the display if you look closely.

Hard to believe people are still buying this thing as a real machine!

If this turns out to be legitimate, then the saddest thing about it will be that Apple has become completely predictable. This photo shows everything that was the subject of speculation; nothing about the design looks truly innovative.

no, i'm pretty sure that says macbook pro on it.

and you do realize that what's on the screen is a screensaver, right? it would be impossible for the name plate to reflect on the screen.
