How can it be that the left side is blurry while the right side is sharp? It doesn't seem to be a focus issue (the two sides are too similar in distance from the spy-cam), but how can it be motion related, i.e. how can the photographer have moved faster with respect to the left side than the right side of the MBP?

Just wondering...

Cameras can do neat things. Go get your point and shoot, turn off flash, take the ISO down to 400 and take some pictures indoors in a low light environment. I guarantee you that some of your images will have that sort of effect.

has anybody else noticed that the mysterious "hole/slot" on the left side doesnt seem to exist in the photo?

Here's where the photo was taken, but it is revealed to be an area still under construction at the time of the photo.

In this photo, it says "MacBook" not "MacBook Pro." The is no space in the writing on the lower bezel The supposed "Pro" is also not even with the rest of the typeface.

The last part is what appears to be a blur of reflected light in an ironic spot; see the two marks circled in red:

No??

Addendum:

If my theory above is indeed correct, then who gives a crap if it's only glossy... Nothing will have changed on the MB. But god, kill me now: us who rely on color accuracy, we do **NEED** a non-glossy MBP.

Aren't Those little blurry marks on the screen the moving stars from their nifty little first time start up video?

so now multiple sites are calling these photos legit, hopefully they point out something that makes these more exciting tomorrow.

Exactly. I don't know about anyone else but I rarely use my portable anywhere but sitting on a desk.

I can understand why people would prefer matte, but to say that the gloss screen will keep them from doing their work is unbelievable. they should try telling their boss that

Definitely no mouse or power button and it's motion blurred in only selective sections...

According to AppleInsider, the entire trackpad will serve as one big button... after playing with my current MacBook's button as if it's a clickable trackpad works quite well... and it makes sense. In that case, my only qualm with the design is that the black border is too thick and I don't like black keyboards. Apple has shown that white on silver works with the current wireless keyboards. I'd like it to be an option, but with the black border it'd look out of place :(

Overall I don't think it's too bad... gloss is annoying but matte is ****. There's a reason why all mobile phones are now glossy... the old matte ones were impossible to see in bright light. Everything went grey. It will take a while for people to accept it though.

If the trackpad is truly clickable, we have that NVIDIA chipset, and this new screen doesn't add much weight, I'll be buying one.

What I find interesting though... is that it says it was taken with an iPhone. As an owner of one, I know they take MUCH nicer images than the one in the pic... Admittedly, I own an iPhone 3G, but I'm pretty sure it was decided that the internal camera has not changed.

I NEVER EVEN SAW THE STARTUP VIDEO PLAYING! XD

I thought the marks and the spot of light were a ceiling light and smudges on the screen. that makes sense, i didn't even think it was on at first.

Glossy screens are TERRIBLE!!!

I am so glad I have the MBP 17" Hi-Def Matte screen...

I really hope that Matte is still an option in the future...

Apple could just make a thin screen-cover that makes
the screen look glossy... as add-on...

I can handle a glossy screen but no mouse button? Jeez... I wanted them to ADD another button not REMOVE it!

How am I supposed to click and drag? And Apple better not give me some type of multi-fingered gesture thing. It's NOT the freaking same!

I thought this was a pro model... Hell, I was waiting for some type of major innovation but this is for sure a step to before the mouse even EXISTED.

Those who say it is fake: thanks for the laughs. Just like everyone thought the Macbooks weren't coming until Nov or MacWorld were incorrect.

Clickable as in will depress slightly? (id like that if it was smooth) or as in its just a touchpad that you click on

I'm not totally against the design. Apple tend to release products that looks kinda ugly at first but looks beautiful irl. After all, it's a pretty blurry shot and it seems to have protective films covering it.

The really good thing about this news is the possibility of DUAL GPU a.k.a. HybridPower. That's really, really nice - integrated GPU when on couch/bed/train/and so on to save heat and battery and then to be able to use the dedicated GPU when plugged in at a desk. Sweeeet! :D :apple: That's probably the best thing about the new MBP if true.

also noticed on the first pic of the MBP the cd drive isnt loaded from the front..

fake anyway

no need to worry bout the screen aswel, it just might happen to be a glossy one they got their hands on ! doesnt mean matte is out of the question!

and discostu668.... its the light reflecting on the screen not a screensaver. and they are not scratched lol

Back from the dead:

Powerbook15.jpg

I knew I kept my old TiBook around for a reason! Now I'll once again look as though I have the latest thing! :D

Lol, exactly. I've asked 3 people so far what they think of the new design and every one of them said something along the lines of "Huh...it looks very...80's" (not in a good way).
