There is no way this is real. Apple may be questionable in some aspects of their business, but their product design is always top-notch and almost always universally praised. They would not release one of their top selling products in such an ugly frame as this.

Apple employees are probably reading posts like this and laughing at all the people panicking about these fake images.

1. the invitation could be the MacBook. These pictures are MBP's

2. These pictures could be two laptops: a 15" MBP and a 17" MBP. Look at the ports, they are so small in the side looking picture that I think the closed laptop picture is a 17"

3. see point 2.

This is real. Who would have any benefit, and time to produce such a fake? This would be pro photoshop work, and I challenge everyone on this forum who has good photoshop skills to produce a mockup of the same quality.

This is the real deal.

You have the right to your opinion - you are obviously a fan of the new design.

I however am not, and if this is truly the unit - I will honestly be on macmall tomorrow or the apple.com's refurbished/ clearance page looking for the all silver mbp.

All this wait and anticipation for this?

After proving that J.R.'s Nano spy shots were fake, I don't think these photos are credible. I believe that J.R. is either trolling the entirety of mac geeks or is really an Apple misdirection attempt, like it was when the real Nano shots were released. Blurry in strategic areas, ports that don't match with the prototypes, no trackpad button (Really? I mean come on, what's the reasoning against it? Some people just don't like to tap.), can't get a full shot of that iLife box (Daring Fireball said no way on that, anyway.), it screams of a fake.

We'll find out tomorrow...err today for those of us on the US east coast.

1. Yeah it could be the MB on the invite. Compare Chinese side shots of these "if" the are MBP's then where the hell did the ports go?

If I had photoshop I could easily make a moc up, I used to be a computer graphic artist. Anyone that REALLY knows how to use PS can make a good moc. There's a lot of straight edges that suddenly turn to blurs. Try enlarging the image and re look at it.

Dont get me wrong. I like the looks they put up, but I can see where it's fake.

Uhhm...his pictures were true. I think people need sleep right now.

It seems they are trying to cash in on the iPhone/iPod theme-look for that screen. Maybe it detaches and becomes a big touch screen tablet? If it doesn't then they really blew it with a big glossy screen, that really sucks! And that old Titaniun Powerbook keyboard. I'm dissapointed cause I will have to wait and hope the next one is good again cause I ain't buying this one for sure. Apple you blew it!:(

Look at the differences...
Also no power button on the right next to the screen?

Image of where the power button is... (Sorry dont know how to link)

also here: look at the sizes of the ports. These are pictures of a 15" and a 17" MBP.

There is a rumor on Engadget that 17" MBP's will not be introduced tomorrow. I consider this to be nonsense. If the 17" is not ready, I would expect Jobs to demonstrate the 15" and say that they are both ready: 15" will be available from today and the 17" in two weeks..

The 17" is too important to not announce at a meeting this major.

also look at the box... since when is there a white box on a pro model...

imac, and macbook use white...

macbook pro, mac pro, and macbook air are boxed in black...

Oops, here's the MB side shot next to the image...
Still doesnt match, MB or MBP.

Yeah, that has no basis. Apple are not going to start selling an entirely new Pro and have an old one still in the store. That's ridiculous -_-

If the pricing rumour is correct, then they're refreshing all of them.

I think you totally misunderstood my point. And it has lots of basis. It happens all the time. Facts get mixed up all the time.

For example:
The recent rumor pertaining to the "Rainbow/Multi coloured iPod nano's" -> Wrong. This rumor really pointed to the fact that that the iPod nano's would be offered with more colour choices to choose from. However, the rumor sites or the person sharing this info with the rumor sites got their facts mixed up, which led us to believe that the next nano's would be multi-coloured, which they weren't.

Lol, I'm not saying that they aren't refreshing all of them tomorrow! I'm suggesting that the rumor that the MacBook won't be released tomorrow could very well be a mix up of facts, just as I've illustrated in my example above, and that perhaps, instead maybe it might not have immediate availability, whereas the 15" MacBook Pro's may have immediate availablity.

I believe that both the MacBook and 15" MacBook Pro's will be announced tomorrow, whether or not all of these machines will have immediate availabilty is anyone's guess.

The one on the left is not the MBP. Its only the Macbook

The one on the left has to be the MacBook Pro to be consistent with the previous and much clearer case photos, because it has a Firewire 800 port right next to the Ethernet port and the first USB port.

The problem then is that it seems to lack the ExpressCard slot and whatever whole that was near the end of the case on the case photos.

Protective Film

I've skimmed the past 20 pages or so and didn't see that anyone had picked up on the extended clear film hanging over the left side of the screen bezel.

You can see a power supply behind the clear portion. Maybe someone's pulled of the protective film and replaced it again, thus explaining the different radii offset on each of the top corners of the screen.

This could be a matte screen under a protective film.

I remember my TiBook also came with protective film around the keyboard too, making it look glossy, and the TiBook has a matte finish, albeit it's a painted surface & not glass, but same same anyway...

I looks like a mac camuflaged as a PC, some sort of "visual infiltrator".

I do not like it.

In the end one of three things are true:
  1. Case leaks were true
  2. The new pictures are the new MBPs
  3. They're both fake.
Not both, there's too many inconsistencies between the two. Just wait 12 hours people.

the pics are fake fake fake but i can tell you that tomorrow will be more exciting than is expected and macbooks are going to be big, not the macbook pro.

I really think the glossy screen is gone for good, and Apple has really praised the glossy screen in keynotes past. Don't get me wrong, I love the choice between the two, but the glossy really is a nice looking product.
