I love it!

Weren't people complaining that you could never have a phone with out buttons??? I think I will do fine with a buttonless trackpad. Bring on 10 am PST!

I like my SR macbook pro design more...
dislike the fact that the macbook pro will look like an imac...
NOT GOOD.

Does the current macbook have the same trackpad- touchpad- whatever the heck it is called- that both the air and the pro have?

If not, could THAT be part of a macbook upgrade?

Is that an upgrade worth waiting for and a reason to buy the new macbook?

looks like we're getting iLife '09 tomorrow too--check out the side of the box.

Not necessarily, the iLife logo on the box is the same as the '08 logo. My guess is it just includes '08 -- if it were '09, they'd redesign the logo.

I havnt posted anything in a while but i had to for this. I dont care what anyone else says. I think this is the best looking laptop i have ever seen. I love the black around the screen and i love the glass! It makes it look so nice and stream line. I dont think i have seen a notebook like it anywhere else.

Almost looks as nice as the $600 HP they copied. :)

You guys seriously don't "see what they did there"?

Yep, they've made a crap job of rubbing out the card slot and 'mystery port', and because the magsafe was out of shot in the original photo, they've made little or no attempt to put it in the new forged photo.

Rest assured, you're not the only one here who has noticed the obvious shenanigans!

... and the trend continues.

People speculate for months on end, getting more and more excited as time nears.

Then as a spy shot is revealed, or even after the event itself, we hear "I hate it", "It is ugly", "Apple is going to go under", "Apple is crazy if they people will like this.", and many other similar negative comments.

In a few weeks, most will change these statements to "I knew it would go over well", and "Damn, this looks great."

SO TRUE

<Senator Vreenak Voice> It's a faaaaake!!!

Really though...

- Unnecessarily blurry, even for a camera phone.
- No apparent click button
- No apparent power button
- Severe 'overbite' on the closed lid photo
- Bad Photoshopping of the card slot and mystery port (as seen in the previously leaked photos)
- Dodgy box (White is normally for MacBooks, but the black handle for MacBook Pros)
- iLife '08 logo on box - There's a possibility of iLife '09 being announced.
- Engadget won't mention their source! Not even 'a trusted source' or 'an anonymous submission'

Any more reasons why it's fake?...

SAY IT: IT'S A FAAAAAAKE!!!

The part that gets me is its basically a straight on shot...yet look at the silver edge along the black bezel....its thin on the right & cascades along the left and is WAY too thick on the left side. You can SEE the Photoshopping along the top ridge. Rush job covered up by the blurriness, FAKE.

MBPs always seem to look better than the previous version imo and this one is a HUGE step backwards. The idea of 2 Nvidia cards is enticing and don't mind losing the trackpad button either...will be P.O.'ed about losing the FW 400 and possibly matte but all that adside, in terms of looks...this one is fugly! Looks like any ol' PC to me. Fortunately its a fake and we can find the real beauty "beastily" unleashed tomorrow. Hopefully its the "funnest" notebook eva!

Come On!!!

I will bet all the fingers i am currently typing with on this:
That is photoshopped..
Am I the only one that can tell it is a iMac display???

edit. you wass to fast for me, coolb0yalex

can somebody correct me on this one? the new MBP will have just two USB ports and 1 Firewire 800 port for output? why would they eliminate that many ports? Three USB ports is already barely enough.

I still want whatever they're releasing tomorrow lol.

I have a 1.83 core duo macbook from 2006. It's time for a personal upgrade later this year.

Gotta remember that if this is real, it's a blurry shot. Until you can see this in person at the Apple store, just chill folks.

Double tap and drag. I used to do all the time on an HP from 2002. Haven't been able to do it on my MBP though. It's a software issue; probably fixed. (It better be!)

I mean I get the easy of use for students that only surf and read but what's with us pros form the design world. Don't want to double tab and use any advance 3d software or Photoshop. Would look funky.

I reallyyyyyyy like it, AS LONG AS MACBOOKS ARE UPDATED AS WELL. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOREVER APPLE, you are not going to get me all hyped up for this event then let me down.

Woah, iMac introduction all over again. When the aluminum iMac launched, it seemed like everyone thought it was ugly until they saw it in person. I'm guessing the same thing will happen here.

Still think the Glass and AL iMac looks ugly, I won't purchase it either or take it if it was given to me for free. Glossy low quality screen equals NO SALE.

check out the update on TUAW http://www.tuaw.com/2008/10/13/could-this-be-the-new-macbook-pro/#comments. poster "anon" found geotagging within the image uploaded on TUAW (not in MacRumors' or Engadget's images) as it was taken with an iPhone. the picture was taken in Cupertino, 1.6 miles away from Infinite Loop (the geotagging in iPhone isnt 100% accurate so i could have come from the Apple offices).

 this has to be real!… although im not to keen on the glossy screen :(.

Please no

Okay big difference if you are a graphic designer/photographer because glossy LCD (not CRT) is horrendous for pro work. I cried when the new iMac was glossy only because I needed a new computer and I couldn't afford the MacPro at the time. After I realized I wouldn't ever get realistic colors/calibration I bought a second monitor and use that for everything but web/mail/palettes.

If they give us a 'glossy/glass covered LCD' only option on the Macbook Pro count me out, I call shenanigans!

I must admit, I'm digging the new look - I just don't like the glossy screen. Unfortunately, if the screen is actually covered in glass, say goodbye to your matte option.

The second picture looks fake though.

Saw something else interesting:
http://www.tuaw.com/2008/10/13/could-this-be-the-new-macbook-pro/

Apparently this picture was geotagged 1.6 miles from infinite loop!:

Take a look at the geotagging information for this picture. It's taken with an iPhone and was taken at 37.3231658936,-122.0148315430. A simple Google Map search shows this location is 1.6 miles from 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, CA. Anyone else have any insight into the relevance of this location? It appears it was taken on Stevens Creek Blvd, which there happens to be an Apple retail location but it's a few miles away.

P.S: The look reminds me of the Alienware m15x a little bit... Sexy.

If this is real maybe the person taking the pictures can get a real camera rather then a .3 mega pixel, camera phone from 2003

Also look at the left side of the keyboard compared to the right (the spacing between keys) and the fact that you can see the power cable through the bezel at the lower left.
