Ahhhh - that is a little bit unfair :)
Thanks for letting me know - saves me from checking the website all day! ;)

I believe the target is a Tuesday at noon Pacific Time, right? That's why some people say Wednesday, because it is where they're at.

The other key clue seems to be the store going offline. Which, most times, dies at midnight in whatever time zone you're in, and then it comes back up at noon Pacific Time.

Am I getting that right? So if I get up tomorrow and the Store is up, then nothing new is available for order. If noon Pacific time passes and there are no announcements, then nothing new has come out for future order. Easy.

well I really don't think it works that way... i mean, there is no definite time when Apple updates their products. they updated the iMac at 3:00 PM (NY time) and some other product (I don't remember) at 12:00 PM. So we can't really say much regarding the time... but it has got to be before 4:00 PM (NY time)

hey buddy then its better u tell him to get it from there because in india the product if its officially launched and for it to be shipped will take a month as what was told to me by the chick in the Apple store

I've already told him about it !! He'll be there just for a week so I really wish the MBP gets updated soon... like really soon !

perfect thats right and we only hope for the best as we are not steve jobs here and we can what we can only do is just solve the issue in our mind with the so called clues in hand and wait.

Hopefully not or i may go mad - I have been waiting since September!
If i had have know it was going to be so long till the release i would have bought a MBP in September!

Hope it's not release in June or I will kick myself :mad::eek:

They better launch it tomorrow or else there are going to be two people who are going to kick themselves. ;)

was always assuming

that Apple wanted to let the iPad get some air under the wings to avoid cannibalizing sales of updated MBP... maybe it's because I was on the fence about replacing my recently-sold MB with an iPad myself, but I can imagine that there is a lot of cross-over and they want to maximize the iPad sales before announcing any changes to MBP lineup.

Apple always had a very strong strategy for PR, marketing, etc...
If this update really is huge, I never believe they will release it this tuesday. It would just make no sense (like been said before), disturbing the iPAD's success. Since it is very new, it needs all the attention it can get..

If they update it tomorrow, there are going to be more people pouring in and the iPad will get better exposure... think of it that way !!

Is Apple so focused on the iPad that the Mac is now an afterthought? Has it come to the realization that it is going to make much more money on consumer gadgets than in the comparatively limited computer market?

If so don't expect any MBP or Mac Pro updates for a long while, probably well after the 3G iPad launches.

I hope the iPad doesn't do to the Mac what the Mac did to the Apple II.

That's generally right, but they're more like guidelines, and the rest of us are trying to figure it out.

The unfortunate part about it all, is that they could come out tomorrow, or they could come out in a month. My only guess is that there's gonna be a point where they cut everything off to focus on the launch of the iPad.

I am also waiting for this refresh but by the way it looks I doubt they'll release them tomorrow. I have never owned a Mac before but I would imagine if a new refresh is coming wouldn't they post somewhere on their site NEW MACS are coming or something like that? What did they do when they refreshed them in June? Did everyone know it was going to happen in June or was it just like one day you visit apple.com and there were new macbooks?

The only preview we Mac people ever get is rumor. Then one day there's either a big announcement (press called, all that sort of thing) or just a press release.

The thing with Apple is... You never know. :)

Well whenever this refresh happens I really hope it was worth the wait. I am waiting to order the 13" MBP and I am really hoping they up the resolution to 1680x1050. I'd prefer an ATI GPU. IF this refresh happens in June I guess that means better hardware ;)

Just stop waiting and Get a PC

Just stop waiting and get a PC. Win 7 is actually pretty good.

Ballmer is that you? How's it goin?

LMAO!!!!! I really can't believe he said that, I mean this is a MAC FORUM!!! I have been a Windows user for 12+ years and honestly I am long over due for a Mac :D Windows 7 is fine but you don't come to a MAC forum and tell people who are waiting out a refresh to go buy a PC. It just doesn't work that way.

alas

As a sad as it makes me, I have to finally face the damn truth -- having watched this (and several other related threads on several different sites) for months -- there just is no evidence that the near-mythical Arrandale (which is beginning to sound as real to me as The Flying Dutchman itself) is launching this week, next week, or anytime in March, April or May.

Die hard Apple watchers have been predicting June all along... and I'm sick to admit it, but I'm beginning to think they've been right all along.

Primary evidence:
- Amazon... MBP fully in stock, no delays in shipping, almost exact same pricing as three months ago.
- Apple store... Fully in stock, same pricing, ships within 24 hours.
- Tekserve... the bellwether Apple store in NYC: everything that's not customized is 100% in stock and ready to go ASAP.
- Springboard Media... Apple's bellwether store in Philadelphia: 100% in stock, same pricing, and every MBP that's not customized can be gotten almost overnight.

Secondary evidence:
- Every prediction has been wrong. Every Tuesday and Thursday has come and gone with wild fanfare for months... with nothing. Yet STILL everyone insists it's about to arrive. To quote Sherlock Holmes (in the book!), "Watson, when everyone around you is predicting something extraordinary is imminent, you can be sure that it most certainly is not."

Tertiary evidence:
- Apple is focused on one thing and one thing only: the iPad. Second point of focus? iPhone 4G. Through the assessment of sheer corporate and product release logistics, That places the re-intro of the MBP sometime in June, if we're lucky.

I'm sorry to say, and I hate to face the facts... but it looks like the truth.
