I wonder if that has anything to do with peoples locations, I don't remember a choice (mine says express delivery)

Grrrr UPS screwed me on my choice. I set it up recently and I got the letter today to activate it. And the code is invalid.
I don't remember choosing a delivery option when I ordered too. I chatted with an agent this morning and he/she upgraded the shipping. Although I was told he/she doesn't know if that would make a difference. I agreed to do it anyway. So in my case, delivery date changed to 10/26 instead of 10/27-11/03 originally. Was it because of the change in delivery method? I dunno, who knows. ?
If it helps, my location is Toronto, Canada.
You’re right, my friend had it backwards and just double checked with them. As the emails say, they ARE honoring it

Isn't My Choice just something that you click on to enroll when you sign up for a UPS account? That's all I had to do
They send you a mailed letter to activate your account to see early incoming packages.
I believe it has a code in it, correct?

That’s also all I had to do. It took less than a minute to sign up for My Choice. No letter was sent with a confirmation code. Here’s the instructions off the UPS website.

Ordered a 16” Space Gray Pro 1TB with custom 32GB extremely quickly when the store went up. Delivery date was Nov 3-5, preparing for shipment the other day. UPS MyChoice has the tracking with a delivery date of Tuesday, launch day!
If i setup an account with google sign in, how does ups my choice know it’s my order? I don’t think I inputted my home address.

That’s the key, you have to add your home address for this to work well. You will not get extended info / notifications for your deliveries without some verification of your delivery address
Just ordered a 16 with a max 24 GPU, 32 GB Ram and 2 TB SSD. Delivery is not until Dec 8th 
Apple still reports delivery of Nov 3-5 but UPS is showing a 3.2kg package coming from Shanghai with delivery on 10/26. Was not expecting this but so stoked!!
14” M1Pro 10/16core 16/512GB ordered right after the keynote at 10:59am PST.
I think all the ones (for US buyers, anyway) that have said Express Shipping from the start are the ones that are already sitting stateside.
Apparently, I had an account but it won't let me edit my home address, guess the site is getting too much traffic at the moment.
Now.. when you get the notice for the departure scan, head over to FlightAware's iPhone tracker, and check the flights that leave the closest to the timestamp of the departure scan. That will be the flight your Mac is on.
I'll even go one step further: Those flights always stop for their next arrival scan in Anchorage. Anchorage is covered by LiveATC, so you can even listen to when your flight arrives. Wash/rinse/repeat for when it reaches your hometown, if your local airport is covered by LiveATC.
