I was right! My 14-inch base config MBP is shipping from the warehouse in Ontario, CA!

UPS is now requiring sigs for packages from apple, even if they didn't have it marked as such. It depends on the local distribution center, but don't be surprised if they 'add' it. And if they do, there's no way to pre-sign for it, or even sign for it afterwards. They now take it to a UPS store by the end of the next business day and you go pick it up there.

I kinda understand it - porch pirates know when there's a launch day, but still, not notifying customers, not having a way to pre-sign for it, and especially not redelivering it all suck. So if this happens to you, and you don't get there by closing time, it'll be thursday before you get your hands on it.

That’s smart. If the new M1 works really well as your desktop and the programs/software you use on it has equivalent for the M1, you can retire your Windows machine. Or, do you think you’ll still hang onto it?

Happened to me a couple of weeks ago, ended up having to go to the UPS store to get it a couple of days later.

Ok so I looked on the apple Canada website to order what I posted above and it had a November 24th shipping date. I went tothe best buy site and ordered it . It says it will be delivered by tomorrow. I'm pretty sure it won't be . Is that to good to be true ?

I did the same except my Best Buy order says delivery as early as October 27th

I got super lucky with my apple watch, was the only person in Melbourne who got a SS model for pickup on launch day.

I don't think it's true... around here, anyway. They just delivered my Watch and tossed it on the porch. Except my Early Warning System (i.e., dog) barked, I wouldn't have known it had arrived, and the truck was nowhere to be seen when I opened the door.

I've ordered a lot of stuff from Apple for the past two decades and have never been asked for a signature. I bought an iPhone 13 mini this year and we were on vacation when it was delivered and I found it when we got back a week later. My neighbor gets packages practically every day and she's often gone for 1-3 days and I've never heard of anything missing. I just see her packages on her front steps or the back entrance day after day.

Yeah, I can't really blame them. Just wish they'd redeliver it rather than taking it to the store, but at least then it's predictable.

I have a Nov 5-10 BTO 14". Still processing but my card was finally charged this morning. Paid with AMEX and got a push alert about the charge.

OMG! My nov 5-10 order changed to prepare to ship!!! But my finance on Apple Card is still pending…

Same - Nov 5-10 BTO 14" (M1 Pro, 10/16-core, 32gb/1TB). Still processing but I see the pending charge on my Apple Card now via Wallet. Would be amazing if it got delivered early by Friday so I have the weekend to play with it!
