UPS is now requiring sigs for packages from apple, even if they didn't have it marked as such. It depends on the local distribution center, but don't be surprised if they 'add' it. And if they do, there's no way to pre-sign for it, or even sign for it afterwards. They now take it to a UPS store by the end of the next business day and you go pick it up there.

I kinda understand it - porch pirates know when there's a launch day, but still, not notifying customers, not having a way to pre-sign for it, and especially not redelivering it all suck. So if this happens to you, and you don't get there by closing time, it'll be thursday before you get your hands on it.
My driver hasn't been requiring signatures for any Apple products - but for the big stuff (iPhones, iMac, etc) he will ring the bell and wait to verify I have it. He also gives me a heads up call when he's about 45 minutes away though....it pays to have a good relationship with your UPS driver!

Can't go through the front door, it's at a shopping centre, security guards everywhere, through the roof. 😁

UUUUUGGGGHHH

This is just a COMPLAINT POST. I just received a couple of texts from UPS.... OF COURSE MY HUSBAND WOULD HAVE 2 PACKAGES BEING DELIVERED TOMORROW. One has been given a window of 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.

DOES HE NOT REALIZE THIS WILL ADD A TON MORE STRESS THAN NEEDED?

Stupid frickin' luck... I'm ridiculously annoyed right now. Yes, I realize I am being RIDICULOUS. It just adds to the concerns of signatures being required and all that jazz.

Forgot to mention that I’m not updating the Intel Mini. Whenever I get the ? I’m starting fresh. Don’t want to carry over any garbage that‘s not needed.
I’m doing the same thing. I have used Apple’s migration tool for every Mac I’ve bought since 2005. Time to make a break with the past and start fresh. I’ve made a copy of my hard drive on an external disk using Carbon Copy Cloner and will selectively be transferring relevant files that I need for day to day operation. Otherwise the old stuff can just sit on my external HD (and I’ve backed the more important elements of that up to the cloud).
