nah. M1X for me trumps 120hz with macs I get an get external monitor that supports high refresh rates.

Just bump up the RAM first. You can always upgrade storage easily with SD card or external SSD

8gb ram is plenty on my M1 MacBook Pro, can open heaps of apps and it doesn’t even break a sweat.
I do use a lot of tabs. Im talking well over 100 tabs my poor Mac is struggling right now.
