For those that are having issues with the notch, there is a a solution. I actually love it, thought it would bug me, but it doesn't. But this is a cool app.

I saw several people carrying in brown boxes to the Apple store when I was there today.

The vastly improved camera is a no-brainer trade-off for the notch, which I barely notice (and which disappears if one sets the desktop to black). The machine itself has a decidedly throwback look due to the thickness, but it looks great and it fits in my briefcase, so no problems there. Very, very happy. Good luck to all.

She is here! Delivered by courier from my local Apple Store. They even included the paper bag! Time to set her up. Thank you for this forum thread to help keep us sane (sometimes not, but all in good fun), and informed, and just the support from fellow enthusiasts.

EDIT: I got the 16-inch mid-range model (M1 Pro 10C-CPU/16C-GPU/16GB with 1TB)

Does anyone know if there has been a change in apple’s trade in policy regarding chargers? Because when I was getting the quote this time there wasn’t any question asking me if I’m gonna include the charger or not. If I don’t have to, I def want to keep my 96W brick.

Glad I went down to pick up the iPhone this morning.... at least I'll have one new Apple product to set up.

Was just notified by UPS that my MBP was damaged in shipment and returned to their warehouse. No delivery. Now I have to work with Apple to get a replacement shipped out..... estimated to be delivered by mid-December.

It made it all the way from Shanghai to the PNW US, then the local UPS carriers got their hands on it. Sigh.
