What size screen MacBook Pro (2021) did you order?

Yeah, being able to share a chip design across every device can let them be flexible on pricing. Who knows if they will go this route but it would be nice to have more of the 13" line replace with the 14" and maybe even drop the 16" pricing. The latter used to be around $1800 CAD for the base model.

Going to trade in my 16 inch for a 14 inch M1X, hopefully the pre order process even allows me to do this and not get burned on release day

The 16 inch was available in droves by me on release so I don’t think it’ll be a problem but still lmao that was before the shortages

Not sure if I can pre order for in store pickup but like pay at the store for MacBooks

If we’re to pretend the rumor is true for a moment, maybe Apple’s testing showed a significant enough performance bump for certain workflows (in particular combined CPU/GPU programs and benchmarks) so they didn’t want people to get confused by different performance deficiencies across the same GPU on paper just because people spec’d different RAM. This would be particularly annoying from a marketing point of view because you can imagine the controversy.

I wouldn’t have believed this rumor… then the rumor about M1 Max and M1 Pro came out. That has me worried the CPU, GPU, and RAM options are not separate from on another, rather you choose between:

M1 Max with 16GB RAM, 16 core GPU
M1 Max with 32GB RAM, 16 core GPU
M1 Pro with 64GB RAM, 32 core GPU

(^Maybe one more option in there?)

and then what storage you need. Curve ball is they make ProMotion an optional upgrade (assuming they cleared ProMotion for release this year)

Again, I hope they don’t do this but that Max and Pro naming scheme has me worried.

If there is any correlation between GPU cores and available RAM, it would make most sense to me that the ability to upgrade to 64GB would be limited to the 32-core model. It does not make sense to me that the 32-core model would have a base RAM or 64GB.

If there's a difference in maximum RAM between 16/32 GPU cores, it would make sense that there are extra RAM channels in the 32-core chip to feed it extra bandwidth. Possible the minimum RAM for the 32-core is 32GB, (and 16 for the 16-core) but I would be shocked if the minimum was 64GB. 64GB is a huge amount, with a huge price.

Wrong.

See, Apple has multiple avenues, let alone multiple fleets to use to get their products delivered; in particular, since they deliver by air, they have 3 fleets of airlines they can use:

FedEx. They have delivered with them since the iPhone 4 fiasco. They easily use them to deliver their Macs as well.

UPS. They also have been delivering with them since the iPhone 4. In fact, crossed with FlightAware's iPhone tracker, you can take your tracking number and match it up with the flights leaving China going to Anchorage, and track your Mac that way.

Amazon. Everyone forgets that Amazon has their own fleet of jets. Seeing that Amazon also sells Macs, Apple can sell them to Amazon, in which by extension, those Macs can be delivered via Amazon's fleet, bypassing any other problems that any other land-based or air carrier has.

Today is a very BIG day. We are expecting to see Apple's last event of the year. We do not have a lot of time left anymore. Everything will be unveiled. Apple is ready to UNLEASHED the MacBook Pro. This weekend was rough as we were bombarded with sketchy rumors about the upcoming MacBook Pro. Notch or No Notch, expect the MacBook Pro to outsell. They will be back-ordered right away. Expect delays, that's something I can assure you 100%. I'm not sure If pre-orders will open up right away or we have to wait until Friday. Rest assured we will find out today!

I do not know what is going to happen today. I don't think anyone knows exactly what we are set up for today. I just want to let you know to be ready for today. Be ready for what Apple is going to offer and be ready to take on it. There is a storm that has been building up since the summer of 2021... Rest assured it is coming and it will be here today... Guaranteed!

Woooo let’s go! I honestly do not mind what Apple ends up doing design wise, as long as the performance and battery delivers (throw in there more peripherals 🔥), I’m game. Hoping orders start today.
