Massive shipping screw up. So much for Apple’s great logistics. They need more reliable shipping and faster clearance through customs.

Empty promises late this year.

In the bigger picture, we are lucky this is the extent of the problems. I would pay extra for a laptop made in the US. I worry about TSMC and hope that Intel follows through on their plans to open their fabs to outside designs. Thankfully, Apple can fab their IP anywhere. Apple has been talking about being able to source everything internally, maybe that's why...

I am about to head to Best Buy or Walmart to grab an SDXC card to be used with my M1Pro. I have never used a memory card. I want to take advantage of the slot and use it to archive some old files. I am totally unfamiliar with these cards. Is there a specific type that must be used with the M1Pro?

This card would take good advantage of your MacBooks UHS-II speeds. They come in various sizes, flavors. If you get an even faster card, the MacBook will read it in theory, but not take advantage of the speed so it’s money wasted.

I don't think much else matters. People run Raspberry Pi from SD cards all the time. One must be careful to avoid swap or log files on them, they tend to wear out faster than proper SSD drives. The cure for that is to use cards with lots of extra room so wear leveling can have options to move things around.

@LFC2020 Finally charging my Mac today. The last time it was charged was on 10/31/2021 - Halloween night Also, I didn't experience any issues. Charging my Mac 7 days later.

I got tired of shutting it down and turning it back on. No issues here mate.

Hopefully it gets updated tomorrow morning and it’s set for delivery. Fingers are crossed.

Well, no update on the new sleeve for the 16. USPS still indicates a pre-shipment status with a delivery date unknown message. I'm hoping to receive it by the end of next week since I'll be traveling next weekend. If it doesn't arrive by then, I'll have to wrap it up in a towel so that it doesn't get scratched. 🤣 And I'm still waiting for the skins from dBrand to arrive.

I guess all of the accessories manufacturers have to get caught up with Apple's new design for the 14 and 16" MBPs.

I’ve only been using safari 😂 haven’t actually unleashed the beast as of yet. But I wanted to see if I can charge my Mac with minimal use once a week. It looks like I have accomplished that. The battery life is way too good. As you can see I still had 19% of battery life left. That’s another day of usage.

LOL! The towel trick was a fall-back years ago before I got into the habit of using sleeves. The Joli sleeve isn't due to be shipped until next week or so, so even if I hadn't cancelled the order, I would still be waiting.

That's alright though, I'll wait for my PicasoLab sleeve. I just haven't found anything that compares to the quality, for me, that match PicasoLab's products and tailoring. 😍 I'm still hoping that they will consider making sleeves for the iPad mini.

Remind me - do you have the 14" or the 16"? I have to say, the battery life of my 14" isn't near as great as the 13" M1 MBP that I ended up returning. It's still worlds better than my Windows laptop, but that 13" M1 MBP was really something else.

Oh my. I am back 🤪. Been reading and watching and listening and I just added my vote to the 14”. I opened my email this morning. Wonder of wonders, I received an Elite Member Anniversary Discount Code from Best Buy of 10%. Without hesitation, I applied that to my purchase. It will be here Tuesday the 9th. Trading in my M1 Air to ItsWorthMore for same amount Apple offered. (Best Buy lowballed their offer by $200 which would have negated the 10% discount. Clever little devils, they!). I TRIED SO HARD TO BE STRONG but the siren call of your voices …😂😂

You do know that unless you are traveling with the laptop, you don’t have to shut down the computer? Just put it to sleep and close the lid. If not traveling,

I never shut my Mac down and it’s only ever restarted if required for a software update. In the past 10 years or so, I’ve never had any issues with not shutting down.

Same here...I never shut down any of my machines, personal or work, Windows or Mac, and only even restart if something is acting buggy. They all just snooze when I'm not using them.

I wonder what everyone's use cases are to shut down regularly?

Is the Max critical to your workflow? Have you sourced what stock is available in your local Apple stores? I want you to have your Mac NOW, not 2 weeks from now! This whole pre-order has been a disaster.

Welcome to the club. My card was charged 10/25. Pro shipped next day. Stayed in China until yesterday. Will most likely be there until Monday. Expecting it Wednesday? My trade in is not making it back in 14 days. Had the box since 11/1. Never ever had this much trouble in 30 years.

After being "In Process" since October 18 mine is finally Shipped. Good lord, in Shanghai China, cant WAIT to edit in Photoshop on this thing. Gonna be by far the best screen I've ever edited on

Also, UPS is giving me a delivery date a full week earlier than what Apple says. UPS says Delivery on Wed Nov 10, Apple says Nov 17.
