I’ve had this ProtoCase for many years. It’s a heavy cloth material with soft padded lining. Lots of storage outside of the main compartment if needed. This has seen hard use and still looks new.

What he says makes sense though, I'm gonna be doing the same. If I didn't already love my current MBP16", I would have ordered the new one already. But with my current laptop still feeling "new" enough, it's hard to justify buying a new one so soon. Also, I may be the only one but I'm gonna miss the touchbar not being there.
So I'm gonna wait till next week and see how they are in other people's hands (and then I'm 99% sure I'll order it anyway).

if a friend purchases my MacBook on their Apple ID, can I purchase apple care for it when I receive it next week? Also would I have to carry it to the apple store for them to inspect it first even though it’s brand new ?

I ended up going with a maxed out 14” (Well only a 1TB SSD). I am hoping i dont regret it but the fact that the 16” only got heavier sealed the deal for me. Ordered in silver and can’t wait. estimated Nov 5th to the 11th.
I respect that. It makes sense. I’m definitely going to miss the Touch Bar too. I can’t skip YouTube commercials/ads anymore without it.

No need, no. You can add it yourself online nowadays. Worst case you call Apple and they send an online diagnostic link. You click it and wait a few mins, if all good, they will then send you a link to purchase the plan online.
You never need to go to the store for Apple Care+ for a device bought within 60 days or less.

the touch bar was literally the worst
Wondering why the exact same model I ordered 8 mins after the event with Dec 2-9th delivery is now Early November on Apple's website.
Sometimes it came in handy but I only used it when watching YouTube videos. Otherwise, I never used it.
You can buy it online within 60 days, after that you have to take it in-store up to a year.
The Touch Bar was something interesting and novel when I first got it, but gradually grew annoying and now I completely dislike it. Was the YT skip through an extension?
I wouldn't be to concerned , apple tends to overestimate. I'd bet you'll be seeing it sooner then you think

You would just slide the cursor and it would skip the ads. It came in very handy

Next year for M1 Max they should flex and make it the only model (at least on 16 inch) that gets 5-6 thunderbolt 4 ports rather than just 3. That would be seriously useful for all sorts of pros that have a lot of electronics they wanna plug in at once (musicians for example).
Not a fan, either give the whole MacBook Pro a matte black finish or leave the aluminum showing between the keys.@LFC2020 still think the keyboard looks cheap? The keyboard looks so elegant and it has that matte black texture. All black design. It looks so premium.

I’m pretty sure that is what Apple is planning on doing. They have to save some for next year.
I mostly kept it as the media bar but it was so unintuitive.
I use it all the time for emojis on chat apps and muting/unmuting myself on Facetime/Zoom-like apps.
