Disappointing news for me this morning. My tracking on UPS has shown a delivery date of today since it left Korea a few days ago. My computer made it to Anchorage on Tuesday, 11/16 at 10:10pm local time. Yesterday I used FlightAware to watch about 9 flights ranging from early in the morning to later in the day from Anchorage to Louisville with my shipment not receiving any scan indicating it left Anchorage until the last 1 or 2 flights (they took off so close together I’m not sure which one it was on). Hope was still alive as it reach Louisville at 1:21am and I saw there was a flight from Louisville to my local airport that left around 4:00am and landed in what should’ve been time to still get on a truck for delivery today. However, I woke up to find an import scan, but no departure scan. My tracking still says delivery today, but that obviously won’t happen if it hasn’t left Louisville unless they are just missing a bunch of scans, which I don’t believe to be the case. It also looks like the next possible flight from Louisville will not arrive until tonight so going to pick it up today will not be an option either. So while it’s just one more day of waiting it’s still disappointing since it sat in Alaska for such a long time and didn’t get on any of the earlier flights, especially after the long delay sitting in China. I guess I’ll just be happy that I should get it tomorrow in time for the weekend. For reference, I ordered about 15 minutes after the end of the keynote and originally had a delivery window of November 10-17th.
One interesting note, if I look at tracking using the UPS website the delivery says today by 9:00pm, but as you can see below, when I look through the UPS app on my iPhone or iPad it says today by 7:00pm. Interesting there are two different times depending where you look. Of course it’s meaningless since it’s not coming today, but still interesting.
