I ordered on October 19th and got an original date of Nov 18-23 then a few days ago that pushed back to Nov 22-30. It’s still in processing. Should I call Apple?

Ahh, sorry it was a little delayed. I wouldn’t bother. But you can call Apple and see if they can apply express shipping?

Whooppeeeee! My MBP departed from Anchorage about an hour ago. Many thanks to the people who alerted us to FlightAware.com because as soon as it left Incheon, Korea this morning I went FlightAware and was able to figure out that it was on UPS99, which was confirmed when UPS99 landed in Anchorage and my MBP was scanned as having made it to Anchorage.

Based on what earlier poster said, I suspected it would stay on UPS99 which would get refueled and then depart for Louisville. And that's exactly what happened. It should arrive in Louisville just after midnight tonight. What's the chance it will make it to Barre, VT in time to get delivered tomorrow???

For others interested in using FlightAware.com, here's what I did: As soon as it scanned as departed Incheon, I put in Incheon, Korea as the origin and Anchorage as destination and looked for a UPS flight that departed about the time my MBP did. That turned out to be UPS99. Once it arrived, I repeated the exercise and listed Anchorage as origin and Louisville as destination and lo and behold, there was UPS99 listed as leaving in an hour and a half. This was confirmed when UPS tracking listed my MBP as having departed Anchorage a few minutes after UPS99 departed.

Anticipation...
Woo hoo! How exciting. You are getting your Mac before thanksgiving is up.

As long you see an import scan being hit tonight you will receive your Mac tomorrow otherwise it’ll be on the following business day.

I just snagged a base 14” off of Amazon for (theoretical) delivery Nov 24! I can’t say I exactly needed it, coming from a 2019 mbp, but I never liked my current one that much (too hot, too noisy, not enough ports, no MagSafe…), so I splurged a little. Life is short, right?
Good call! Welcome to M1 Pro 💻 it’s an amazing notebook.

Obligatory pic…. Got most of my apps installed, now just need to configure it all the way I like it. Really happy with this system so far, spent almost 2 hours working on a write up I needed to do. Love the new keyboard.
It looks stunning, beautiful! Congratulations!!!

Whooopppeeeee! 💥🎉. My MBP is Out For Delivery! I wasn't really expecting it today--until it got to Louisville around midnight, showed up with import scan shortly thereafter (thanks, TheYayAreaLiving!), and went out to Manchester, NH a couple of hours later.

Many thanks to folks who alerted me to FlightAware.com--it was way cool to be able to follow my package's progress in real time, although I must admit I did not get much sleep last night as a consequence. Now that I think about it, I didn't get much sleep the night before I got my very first Mac, a MacPlus more than 30 years ago, either. 😂

Mine still says its been picked up still no scheduled Delivery date yet for me and looks like it it is still in China- Like I said before - I think Fedex has it but just waiting for clearance from customs or just waiting intil the get more to fill a pallet. Apple order status page says Nov. 26 - I say it dose not leave china soon then it won't get here by Friday November 26,- I also ordered a Keyboard cover from here https://gouppercase.com/products/premium-keyboard-protector - since they have them now for the 14 & 16 inch M1 Pro/ M1 Max MacBook pros now- this kind of the cover that I have been using on my 13 inch intel july 2019 MacBook Pro and it has really helped keeping all of the crud out between the keyboard keys since the July 2019 had the butterfly keyboard and I really had not had a issue with since I have been using the cover

iPhone Update... Didn't have to wait 3-4 weeks after all. Woke up yesterday and felt like I should check stock on the iPhone 13 Pro at my local store. They had the exact model I wanted - Unlocked, 13 Pro, Sierra Blue, 256GB. So my 14" MBP now has a new friend!

Downsizing from 12 Pro Max to 13 Pro was a fantastic decision. Only adjustment I need to make is the downsize of the onscreen keyboard. Forgot how much I've missed one-handed usage! Oh, and it looks gorgeous next to my AirPods Max!

I'm having an internal dilemma haha. Here's my story:

I had the 13" M1 MacBook Air - loved it. Saw this unleashed event and said to myself "I need that new MacBook Pro! It's the Pro we have been waiting for!". (I think this is a common experience for most of us haha) So I Sold the Air.

The question of NEED is where I'm at. Haha. I typically do the usual productivity stuff with occasional photo editing and coding, etc (which does use up more than 16gb of RAM if you check.) I do have TONS of tabs open all the time in safari, it's just how I work. I have noticed a couple hiccups on the M1 Air when I was doing things.

I originally ordered a 14" m1 pro 16gb/1tb and returned it as I felt I made a mistake in not upgrading the RAM which I knew I would occasionally use up.

Now I have ordered a 14" m1 pro 32gb/1tb and it's scheduled to come Dec 6-14. I am debating whether I really need this machine for nearly over 1000 dollars more than the air or even the 13 m1 MacBook Pro. I want a machine that will last many years (I still am using my 13" MacBook Pro late 2013 retina in the meantime). I have the money, but wondering whether it is worth the upgrade or if I should just go back and get the 13" M1 Air or Pro (I hate the Touch Bar by the way). I want a sort of future proof machine and feel like the regular M1 is amazing, but just short of that over these next few years.

I am also concerned which will have the better battery life. I am not sure how long the 14" lasts say compared to the 13" M1 Air or Pro. If it's only an hour or so off, that's fine. Experience?

Need some input from people who understand this first world problem! hahaha. Thanks everyone. My new MacBook may ship any day now so I have to make a decision.

The 16" is a beast in terms of battery life and just overall a fantastic machine. I think that in terms of longevity, both the M1 MBA/MBP will serve well, but if you ever have an occasion to dock to multiple screens, only the 14" and 16" will be able to handle that easily.

I also went from the M1 MBA to the 16" and do not regret my decision at all. Granted my use isn't focus heavy but I also intend to keep the beast for a minimum of 5-7 years if not more. I also do not find the weight of the 16" prohibitive for portability although there are some who prefer the 14" for that very purpose. YMMV.

Also, there really is no such thing as future proofing. The next iteration of the new MBP M1 Pro/Max will ensure of that. The goal is to assess what your needs are now, the storage that you currently have, and then select an upgrade that might equal or be a step above your current gear.

The choice is yours.

Thank you. All good points. I prefer the 14 over the 16 as I had a 15" and even that was just a little too large for the portability I need. I think I will stick with my purchase, there are just so many positives in getting the machine: Pro-Motion, bezels, chipset, front camera upgrade, ports, etc.
