I might be off to bed soon. What a day today. Today was very hectic. It was pure madness. I seriously felt like I was in a war zone. I don't even remember what happened. Too much excitement and anticipation got me. If you don't believe me... you are welcome to scroll through the pages and read the posts (follow along). It was not an easy day. I'm glad it's over.
I'm glad the majority of you were able to get your order in. Congratulations to all of you. I strongly believe Apple was able to deliver excellent news today. I'm very happy with what Apple had to offer. Rest assured, we only have 7 days left till we receive our new Mac's. If you have a November/December delivery date. No need to worry, You will have them in your hands way before the promised date. Apple always delivers over-promise.

A base model MBP 14 is heading to Rome, Italy for delivery 26 October. Delivery dates didn't fall back as quickly here likely because Apple had to produce a certain number of units with an Italian keyboard in advance.
Odd, my order says arriving Dec 10-23 but if i go to the store and spec out the identical machine then it says nov 19-25. Should I cancel it and reorder or is this some weird logistics thing that will clear itself up.

I don't mind the notch. The webcam in my Intel MBA is crap, so if the notch makes these new webcams less crap I'm OK with it. FaceID would have been great, as winter approaches my hands get quite dry so touch-ID often fails. Oh well.
Not sure on the keyboard though; mine looks like it was nicely built into the unit itself whereas the new ones look like someone just found a black plastic rectangle and squashed it into a case cut-out. No deal breaker though, but I'm curious as to what they look like in real life.
There's no point in me ordering now, or in store, as I'm in Switzerland and they do crazy things with the Y and Z keys, so I need to customise my order with a British keyboard anyway. I do want to upgrade my 2020 i5 Air, mainly as the thing is louder than TYAL's neighbourhood army jet when on a webex call, but I'll wait until people are reviewing them.
As in proper reviews, not some stupid YouTuber who gushes over everything before you realise they didn't even turn it on, just waved it in front of the camera saying how cool it looks.
One of the reasons why I’m not happy that we got a notch and no Face ID, touch ID is crap for me as well, maybe I need to stop helping out with the dishes lol.
Agree, the current model keyboard looks more premium with the aluminium showing, Tim Cook cutting cost. 🤔 I’ll reserve further judgment until I see the keyboard in person.

Yes they usually do 10% off new macs in a month or two. If you’re quick you can go to Officeworks for pricematch and get another 5% off. But they’re only for base models.
If it’s a hardware fault then JB should help you because of Australian consumer law. Otherwise get AppleCare+ and go to Apple.
