What size screen MacBook Pro (2021) did you order?

I ordered 14” base + 1tb ssd.
Arrives 3/11-8/11 (Australia).
I paid using apple gift cards (pre loaded into my acct) and looks like the MBP cost has been deducted from the gift cards.
Has anyone else been charged? I wasn’t expecting to be charged for another week or so due to my delivery date. I thought they only charged once shipped? Or is it different when you BTO?

I used this deal to get Apple vouchers at Coles,

Id prefer buying from Apple where I can, more peace of mind.

During purchase I didn't check what keyboard I had, so it was set to Dutch (I live in The Netherlands). But I want the US keyboard, so I called and the only thing they could do for me is cancel my order and then I woud have to order a new one. So, that's what I did, but now the delivery date is 16 nov - 23 nov, instead of 26 oct I had with my original order. This makes me very sad 😭😭😭

It's not. They said during the presentation that it's black anodised aluminium.

Because they have to flash those MacBooks with a different image of the OS. So those come from a different product line/factory/ware house.

I think the keyboard area of the new model is more expensive to manufacture because they have to do an additional anodising step to get the aluminium black. So it might look cheaper (to you) but in facts it's more premium! 🙃

I ordered and canceled the times before settling on 16” 32GB with 32-core GPU and 1TB drive in silver. I couldn’t order until after work so I got Nov2 - Nov9 delivery which is pretty decent.

I got the monster GPU I was hoping for!
I’m pretty happy with where they landed.
I can store lots of movies and other incidental data on SD cards, I think they will handle the notch well in software to just give us extra space with menu and effectively just bigger bezel for full screen.

Literally did the same thing.

Can’t wait to read the reviews that the bump from 8 to 10 cores is 5%

then it was a debate to go from 14 to 16 gpu- I felt well that’s negligible already. Ugh Apple knows what they’re doing to make people spend more money!

Mine is showing the same now “Arrives” hopefully it’s just an error. Weird! Huh

Was on the fence about chopping in my 16" for the new 14" (10 core) but I've gone for it.
Think the previous gen is still slightly better looking but can't ignore the specs of the M1 Pro and although I liked the Touch Bar on the whole, it'll be nice having proper buttons back.

Question about ordering! I'm in Canada.

I have $1170 on an Apple Gift Card for trade in value.
I have an M1 Mac Mini I plan to trade in (but I need to transfer from Mac Mini -> New Computer first)

1. Can I credit my trade in to my purchase after I trade in my Mac Mini?
2. Can I use PayBright for the remainder?

I think it looks really stylish and actually a bit retro. Because the case is a bit chunkier, too, I'm really having flashbacks. The case is like the first retina macbook pros. And the keyboard, I had to think a while, but this is what it reminds me of:

Ahhh thanks, I was in the same situation and considered calling but I figured they wouldn't be able to do this.
Decided to keep it cause I know the US keyboard by heart. It also increases resale value in your respective country as I'd think the masses don't need/want a non-native keyboard.
 
I cancelled my 14" base from Apple Store and re-ordered through Best Buy (pre-orders are now live on BB).

Had an Oct 26 date from Apple and Best Buy is saying the same.

Only reason is that this purchase will keep my Elite+ status (w/ 6% back on purchases, including this one) for next year.

Same here! I remember buying a mbp in February of 2019 (from a 2013 mpb) simply out of boredom and it was on sale… luckily I learned about the butterfly keyboard fiasco and returned it before I even thought to open it.


Thanks to this forum I’ve jumped on the preorder wagon and the day is finally here!! We’ve all been (im)patiently waiting for this moment.

I bought my first iPad when the 12.9 M1 was released…. My husband thinks that if decide to keep the new MBP 14” that I should keep both. It’s a lovely thought. I don’t splurge on laptops/tablets often.l either…. Heck, my 2013 MBP is still hanging in there.

Regardless I am way excited these babies are being released onto the world next Tuesday!

After 14 years of faithful service, my Late 2008 unibody MBP is finally being replaced. 16" Max 32/1TB with 10/26 delivery is on the way.. Even though the old beater has the extra fancy BTO 2.8 gHz Core 2 duo, I'm thinking the new one might be a tad faster to boot. A functioning camera, WIFI card, and ability to get past Mojave will also be a nice bonus. ;)
