So glad I upgraded to 32GB RAM. Just doing some basic multitasking (lots of safari tabs open and about 10-12 lighter-weight programs running) and already at 28GB RAM usage. Definitely worth it to have that buffer for what I need.
Can we keep this please keep this thread to order status. There are other forums to discuss battery life, RAM, video performance, etc.
I'm Getting Closer I had bought the MBP 16 m1pro at the apples store in Wiillamsburg Brooklyn but thought I needed more ram and Hard Drive Space so I ordered the m1max 16inch with 2tb. it's in Memphis yes!!!!

Ordered on Nov 22, 14" SG Max with 10cpu 24 gpu, 32GB Ram, and 4 TB SSD. Received email stating shipping via UPS on Dec 3rd with a delivery date of Dec.14. The tracking number is yet to show up on the UPS site.
Just checked my credit card’s transaction again this morning (Dec. 9th) and now the Pending charge does not appear anywhere. ????? Refreshing the order status page and checking the credit transaction history multiple times a day is making matters worse for me!
And now the order status is “PTS’”! Looks like it should be delivered within the delivery window (12/7 - 12/14). I am in Tokyo so I should not have any shipping delays once it leaves China.
I've had my Nov 20th order's tracking number since around 7PM PST on Dec 5th and still not showing in the UPS system. Best guess is all the labels got created and stuck on the packages in China. Loaded up into a pallet and onto the plane at some point. Then the pallet will be broken down at the main UPS hub and the individual labels scanned and sent on their way to the customer. At least that is what I'm hoping for and that they aren't all still sitting in China.
I see. I hope this is not the new normal in shipping logistics.

I am one of the ones with the non working UPS tracking. At this point as someone suggested , all of ours are on some inbound freight that will probably get the initial scan stateside once it arrives. With six days left until the expected delivery date I hope there is some movement in there somewhere lol?

Thar she blows! UPS app finally shows that UPS knows AI has a shipment for me! "Check back tomorrow for an updated delivery date", though I'm guessing that means several tomorrows from now.

Question, my UPS CC is a 1.2 miles away, should I just pay the 5.99 to hold my package there instead of waiting all day for it lol? Normally when it was free and I held packages there, it would be available right at 10am when they open

Not sure how UPS works with Mac deliveries, but I know over the last few years while awaiting iPhones people have been able to ask UPS to switch to hold at the UPS CC without paying extra. My experience has been much better when making the request once the iPhones were past Anchorage, before then I could not request the CC and they only had the local "stores" that I imagine would have been able to get my phone for the following business day and not on the launch day- I never risked trying that as I didn't want to find it was going to be the following Monday before I could get the phone!!!
I've paid for the UPS My Choice the last few years and have been able to get my last three phones at 10am at the CC. I thought it'd be too early to make that Change Delivery request, but there is now more info (than 10 minutes ago) on my MBP shipment and I was able to see the CC as a pick up delivery option.
When I ordered on 10/23 I got the estimated delivery on December 9- 16. Several places in the info I now see on UPS.app about my MBP still says I'll get it on 12/9! But elsewhere, while seeing it is now 12/9, it tells me to check back tomorrow for "updated delivery date".
I guess this is where we find out if our computers that got tracking numbers last week were shipped last week with the shipping labels unapplied to our boxes on the pallets. :?:
I'm pretty sure this is the first Apple device I've ever ordered that UPS didn't tell me before Apple that something was coming my way. When Apple said "shipped", I thought it must have been coming via DHL or some other carrier that didn't know how to connect me to info about my soon to arrive computer.
Previously, "shipped" according to Apple meant it was in Louisville, but here I am 5 days later just getting UPS info.
BTW, Apple states delivery on the 14th on Apple Store.app.
