A wonderful article has been published by AppleInsider.

What to do first with your new Mac

It’s worth checking out.

Yeah, awesome indeed. Interestingly, the package was delivered were by the post office. I don’t know how this DB Schenker shipping company was involved. Maybe Apple has a contract with DHL Express who has a contract with DB Schenker, who then contracts the delivery With the post office?

A bit offtopic.. was this delivery in Germany?

I ask, because Schenker is a rather famous name over there, and I wonder if they are of the same Schenker family as Michael and Rudolph: the Schenkers that founded the band The Scorpions.

You mean... the first thing you should be doing with your new Mac is NOT memeing yourself like Craig Federeghi?

My similarly configured order from Nov. 4, originally 12/23-12/29 is now February? Hoping for a system error.
So it looks like that is accurate? We’ve completely missed the original window with no change. :(
Anybody else in this boat? The 64GB seems to be the real killer here.

My Mid October Order was initially delayed to December 31st. I just got notification this morning it is being pushed back to February 14th. To say I am irate is a bit of an understatement.
That's frustrating! I wonder if they're having problems with the high spec Max chips?

Do you have a way to reply back and ask why? I know some states may have laws requiring a reason to be given for delays in delivery, especially if the funds have already been pulled for the purchase. I had the same happen with a stove I ordered from Home Depot in October 2020... It didn't get delivered until April 2021. Their only option of recourse for me was to either wait it out, or refund and purchase it again (one, which made no sense to do, because two, I purchased it at a sale price and buying it again would have me buying it at MSRP plus their markup).

So there may be some recourse on this especially if they already pulled the money from your card.

Once your package arrives to Memphis, TN (Fedex). Will they put it on a truck to go to your destination? and if so how long will it usually take from Fedex's Memphis HUB to get to you?

Depends on where you are. As all international cargo for FDX clears through Memphis, depending on your proximity to Memphis, it could go back on a flight to the airport closest to your local FDX distribution center.

For example, I can't see them putting a Mac on a truck to be sent to someone in South Lake Tahoe, California, where their closest distro center is either at KRNO (Reno International Airport), or down the hill in Sacramento. depending on the route taken, that could be another good 4-5 days. Instead, they'll throw it on a plane and fly it to KRNO, then from there it goes on a truck, as South Lake Tahoe is no more than an hour's drive south of Reno.

So check the closest major airport to you, as there will more than likely be a distribution center near there. The Mac will be flown there, then will be put on a truck.

I have a contact in sales but they are out of office until Tuesday. I will be reaching out to them then.

Ordered on Dec 13, 2021 (after changing my mind a million times) a 16" M1 Max, 32GB/2TB. Delivery window of Jan 14 - 21.
CC has a pending charge this morning at 11:40am for both the laptop and the apple care.
Apple has NOT yet changed the order to Preparing to Ship.

(note: after reading this thread and a few others, I will never order an apple macbook from a 3rd party vendor - I've always ordered directly through apple and will continue to do so).
